‘Teen Wolf The Movie’: 5 things to get excited about

It may not have the whole gang, but it's still Teen Wolf!

We are fully aware that many fans (including us) are bummed that one of the main actors of the original series, Dylan O’Brien, won’t be back as Stiles, and that Arden Cho (who decided to pass on the project) won’t be back as Kira, but there is still plenty to get hyped about!

Here are 5 things about Teen Wolf The Movie to get excited about!

Allison Argent

In one of the most tragic moments of the show’s original run, Allison Argent was killed and died in the arms of Scott McCall. It was heartbreaking, but there was no time to grieve (literally – they didn’t even show her funeral), because there was so much going on at the time. As the dust began to settle, the absence of Allison Argent got stronger and stronger with each passing episode. We have no idea HOW she’s back, but we are beyond happy about it!

The Familiar Sets

There are many iconic places in the Teen Wolf universe, and it’s always interesting to see characters of a revival in those environments again. In the case of Teen Wolf, we will get to see the formerly “teen” characters as adults in these classic locations. They won’t be the panicked teens looking to the adults for help at Beacon Hills High or the hospital – they will BE the adults!

The cast that IS coming back!

Not only are we getting Crystal Reed back as Allison, but we will get to see our main Alpha – Tyler Posey as Scott McCall!  Holland Roden will be back to (presumably) scream and be brilliant as Lydia Martin and we could have been pretty content with just that, but we are getting SO many more beloved characters back for this movie!

Also returning are Shelley Hennig (Malia Tate), Linden Ashby (Sheriff Stilinski), J.R. Bourne (Chris Argent),  Melissa Ponzio (Melissa McCall), Dylan Sprayberry (Liam Dunbar), Orny Adams (Coach), Seth Gilliam (Dr. Deaton), Colton Haynes (Jackson Whittemore), Ryan Kelley (Jordan Parrish), Ian Bohen (Peter Hale) and Khylin Rhambo (Mason Hewitt).

Daddy Derek?!

One of the most interesting casting announcements is that Derek Hale’s son, Eli Hale will be in this movie! Derek has always been a man of mystery, so it’s not shocking that he has a child we didn’t know about, but we are super intrigued and interested to learn more about Derek’s 15 year old son (played by Vince Mattis). Tyler Hoechlin has not been confirmed yet, but at least we know he’ll be a part of the story in some way.

The Fandom

Coming together online to love or hate things happening on Teen Wolf each week was such a huge part of what made this show and this fandom so fun. We still get to do that (sort of) when people stream the show, but it’s just not the same as all of us collectively gasping when we learned that the hunter that was after Scott was Allison’s father, or the jaw drop we had when Void Stiles was revealed, or the swooning over new loves, or theory sharing whenever a new mystery rolled into town.

It was so magical to experience this all together! So whether we love every bit of it or have some notes, we get to do it together and that’s worth all the hype.

Look for Teen Wolf The Movie on Paramount + later this year. All episodes of Teen Wolf are available to stream on Paramount +.
