Get ready for The Good Doctor 4×09!
The Good Doctor recap: Season 4, Episode 9, “Irresponsible Salad Bar Practices,” aired February 15, 2021.
It’s been a few weeks, so if you need a refresher, check out last episode’s recap before reading on. Based on the previews for this episode, we are in for some drama! I mean, we always get some drama, but this looks like some very intense drama. Let’s see what happens this week!
Glassman visits Lim
Ricky, you can’t tell Claire she’s wrong because most times, she’s right. Claire, Asher and Ricky tend to patient who went into a crisis. Apparently, Claire believes that the woman has not been taking her meds.
Glassman sits down with Lim to ask how she’s doing after everything they’ve been going through at work. However, she quickly dismisses him and tells him she’s okay. He tells her that he’s worried about her, and I’m glad Lim has a support system at work. When he suggests she go see a therapist, she is also quick to dismiss that advice, too. Aw, Lim, your friends just want you to be okay!
Meanwhile, Morgan, Park and Jordan are observing Shaun talking to the new radiologist intern. Jordan points out that he has a bit of a crush on her — oh!!! The team is treating a patient with a tumor, who has transitioned, and Jordan runs an ultrasound on him to find that he is pregnant. He decides he wants to terminate the pregnancy.
The new radiology intern invites Shaun to join her in watching the weather channel with her and then kisses him. Turns out, Shaun was having a dream about the woman. Dream cheating! Park tells Shaun there’s nothing to worry about, that it’s just about his attraction. Jordan and Park both discourage him from telling Lea about his thoughts about the woman.
The patient decides to keep the baby. Lim tells the patient that they will have to use another method for his surgery. His fiancé, however, does not seem happy about the decision. Shaun talks to man, and it seems to help him as he goes to apologize to him. Awe. It’s then that he loses some of his vision.
Claire’s patient tells her that they’re a lot alike, and asks Claire for advice about what she should do if she were in her position.
Lim vs. Claire
Lim and Claire are still on tense terms, and she’s not happy that Claire’s been telling people about her problems. Ricky comes to tell Claire that their patient wants to be transferred to another hospital, as she says they racially profiled her. Glassman talks to the patient, and she agrees to stay so long as Claire is not part of her procedure.
Shaun does end up telling Lea about his crush and his dream. She tells him that she’s attracted to other guys, too. However, Shaun does not want to hear about it. Speaking of, the attractive man in question just so happens to walk past them during their lunch.
Observing the crush
Maybe Shaun’s crush does bother Lea more than she let on because she was taking notes. Okay, Lea, not weird at all. Apparently, it’s stuff that will make Shaun’s crush disappear, but none of what she’s observed is helping at all. What sets him off is that she used the tongs at the salad bar for multiple veggies.
Claire watches the surgery from outside and offers the team a suggestion that’ll help the surgery. The patient has a successful surgery, and Claire comes to check on her after it. She apologizes to the woman.
Lim’s patient has a successful surgery with an expected healthy pregnancy.
Meanwhile, Lim confides to Andrews and Claire that she’s taking the next steps to treating her PTSD.
More The Good Doctor musings
- I watched a Hallmark movie this weekend, and Nicholas Gonzalez was in it, and wow, I miss Melendez.
- Jordan and Park’s interest in Shaun and the radiologist is so great.
- I miss Lim and Claire’s friendship.
- I still can’t watch them do surgeries because it makes my stomach roll. After 4 seasons, you’d think I’d be okay.
- Did Shaun just smell the radiologist?????
- I’m warming up to Ricky a little, but dude, wearing a hoodie to work?
- Next week’s episode. WOAH.
