Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist 2×04, Season 2, Episode 4, “Zoey’s Extraordinary Employee” aired on NBC Jan. 26, 2021
Deciding what will make you happy and actually being able to act on it are two very different things, but in this episode, that’s exactly what Zoey and David try to do. Here’s what went down in Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist 2×04!
Put on a happy face. Zoey is determined to change her outlook and takes a page out of Mo’s book and just DECIDES to be happy. That’s a great plan in theory, but when Zoey has to fire 10% of her workforce, she has a hard time keeping a smile. And when it’s George she has to let go, she can’t keep the happy face any longer. NOT GEORGE!
Flirt alert. Maggie’s new client is giving her the heart eyes and even asks her out! He’s all in, but Maggie is just not ready to start dating. She is also feeling a bit guilty about it all. Thankfully, she has Jenna to remind her that she has nothing to feel guilty about. They are an unlikely friendship, but quickly become one of our favorite duos!
Old Ships. In the previous episode, Zoey and Max broke it off (sob), but she is clearly still thirsting for him a bit because she got all handsy the moment she had a few drinks in her. Meanwhile, Zoey and Simon continue to bond over their shared understanding of grief and we are loving this relationship more than ever!
New ships. But who cares about them because – HELLO AIDEN! He’s younger and probably totally wrong for her, but that might be exactly what she needs right now. Another new ship or ships that have potential is Tatiana and Simon, and – heck, even Max and Tatiana! We will see where this goes!
David wants a new gig. The fam goes to watch David’s 100th winning case and he sings a heart song about wanting to break free from this job. He is unhappy with his job and wants to stay home with Miles, but Emily is not board at first. After a little chat with Zoey about Zoey’s firing issues, Emily starts to realize that she doesn’t want David to stay in a job he hates just to make their life plan work.
Karaoke cleanse. Mo is worried that her new biz with Max is cursed so she plans a little building cleanse – complete with karaoke, because if you can’t sage your demons away, you can always try to sing them away! Max isn’t as into Mo’s quirky ways. He feels like he is the only one doing the real work, but Mo just has a different process.
