SYFY Kicks Off Major Marathons with ‘Wynonna Earp’, ‘Battlestar Galactica’ and More

With many of our shows ending way earlier than expected, many of us have been taking comfort from our wild reality by jumping headfirst into that new show we’ve been meaning to watch or old favorites. SYFY is doing it’s part by kicking off Thursday marathons with some of our favorite shows. On April 9th, all Earpers old and new will rejoice to see the first season of Wynonna Earp all over again. What makes this marathon extra special? Oh, just the fact that the cast and show creator, Emily Andras will be hosting the whole shebang. If you follow any of these real-life characters on social media or have attended one of the show’s panels, then you know what a treat you’re in for.

Now, I’m beyond pumped about the Earp marathon coming my way. Plus they’re adding 134 episodes of Xena: Warrior Princess episodes for #ThrowbackThursday starting April 16th and running every Thursday from there. Exciting stuff, but there’s more yet marathon news that has this fangirl over the flipping moon. What is this news, you wonder? Oh, just that SYFY is planning a huge 3-day marathon for all-time fave and cult classic, Battlestar Galactica.

The marathon will kick off on April 20th at 12AM EST starting with the 2-part miniseries and followed by all 76 episodes from the four seasons. The event will also include the two BSG movies “Razor” and “The Plan”.  Our favorite lady in red, Tricia Helfer is set to host the entire marathon and there are whispers of some other cool content and surprise appearances awaiting fans. All of that is cool, right? Well, there’s an extra cherry topping thanks SYFY WIRE. The Battlestar Galactica podcast is hosting an extra special episode on April 20th. Cast members (Edward James Olmos, James Callis, Jamie Bamber, Katee Sackhoff, Michael Trucco, Rekha Sharma and more) will reunite for a live reading of the pilot episode, “33”.

I’m so geeked out that I broke out the old DVDs and realized that I have both season one on DVD and Blu-Ray. Good thing I resisted the urge and that excellent sale on the VOD version the other day. No worries if you’ve purged your collection (WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT????) because SYFY has you covered. If you can’t wait for the upcoming marathon set for the end of this month, you can find all episodes from the award-winning series streaming on SYFY.com and on the NBCU OneApp.

What’s your favorite episode from BSG? What’s your favorite Adama speech? Favorite cliffhanger? Battle? Twist? If a character from Xena, BSG, and Wynonna all stumbled into a bar which characters would they be? Hit us up on Twitter or drop a note in the comments to let us know.

A lover of words and moving pictures, I'm a fangirl from way back. Seriously—I grew up watching Daytime TV from my granny's knee. It was Knots Landing over Dynasty, and BtVS over pretty much everything else. I watch entirely too much television and am quite happy sitting in an empty movie theater on a rainy day. And if we’re talking bromances, there's no bromance quite like the Winchesters. Cort has been writing since she can remember and podcasting for nearly 10 years with @bradzb.
