‘Charlie’s Angels’: Blu-ray and DVD review

Buckle up - this is gonna be fun!

Charlie’s Angels stars Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, Ella Balinska and Elizabeth Banks (who also wrote and directed). It also features Patrick Stewart, an adorkable Noah Centineo and a slew of super cool cameos.

Yeah, yeah – we know that Charlie’s Angels got beat up a little at the box office, but that doesn’t negate the fact that this movie is fun AF! And now, the Blu-ray let’s you have all that fun at home (and you don’t even have to wear pants)!

Fans of the original show or the 00’s movies will appreciate this film because it’s a continuation of the Charlie’s Angels franchise, not a remake. It goes out of it’s way (on more than one occasion) to pay tribute to the Angels that came before them.

The best thing about this movie is literally every single thing that Kristen Stewart says and does. For real – she is next level wonderful in this movie. Elizabeth Banks’ writing plus the K-Stew smirk and line delivery = GOLD! And Stewart, Scott and Balinska play off of each other so well in this movie.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment

There is more plot than you’d expect in an action movie, but in a good way. Banks doesn’t rely on action shots and flashy costumes to keep you interested (but there are plenty). There are some twists that you don’t really see coming and it’s definitely a refreshing change of pace in this genre.

Speaking of action, this movie kicks a lot of ass. The fight scenes are very well done and the car chase scene will have your heart pounding. This movie also boasts one of the most adorable meet-cutes ever and the fact that it happens in the middle of the heist just makes it even better.

Bottom line – this movie is a good time and one that you will want to re-watch on days when you need an extra dose of female awesomeness.

The Blu-ray and DVD combo pack is filled with goodies! The gag reel is always a fan favorite and this one is a can’t miss! There is a feature that deep dives into an action sequence of the film, deleted scenes, a feature on costumes, and a special look at the sisterhood of the Angels. And the cherry on top of it all is the music video for “Don’t Call Me Angel” featuring Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus & Lana Del Rey!

Seriously, if International Women’s Day was a Blu-Ray – it’d be this one!

Charlie’s Angels is available on Digital now and Blu-ray and DVD on March 10th!
