‘Black Lightning’ 3×11: Top 4 moments from “Lynn’s Addiction”

Lynn struggles to deal with her addiction to Green Light

Black Lightning 3×11 recap: Season 3, Episode 11, “The Book of Markovia: Chapter Two: Lynn’s Addiction,” Aired Jan. 27, 2020

In Black Lightning 3×11, Lynn’s addiction struggles deteriorates, however she manages to produce a life-changing serum that will give can give people powers; Geo-Force is formally introduced into the Arrowverse; Anissa and Grace briefly reunite; and lastly, Jen finally learns that Khalil is alive.

Lets breakdown the top 4 moment of Black Lightning 3×11 in more detail:

#1 Lynn creates a serum that gives powers

Lynn is really not doing good, as she continues to struggle with her addiction to Green Light. After last weeks episode, things got tense between Lynn and Jefferson, especially after he tried to stop her from taking more Green Light. I’m not sure how long Lynn will continue to deteriorate, but I do hope that Jefferson and the family can help Lynn get on the mend soon. I’m surprised nothing has happened as of yet!

A good thing however that has came out of a bad situation, is that Lynn creates a serum that can give people powers. Lynn was going to try it out her self, but an A.S.A agent volunteers himself. He had previously released his concerns over the A.S.A.’s true agenda, so we know we could trust him. Lynn agrees to let him be a test subject – and much to their surprise, it works! So there we have it: Lynn successfully produces a serum that can give anyone meta-human- like powers – briefly. The powers won’t last forever, but it’s still exciting. However, in the wrong hands, it would be disastrous!

Later, Lynn breaks out Tobias, while giving him temporary powers to do so. Unsurprisingly, Tobias tries to cross her, but he doesn’t know that Lynn has powers – she knocks him out before he can do anything. The A.S.A. agent who helped Lynn earlier, turns up to help them escape, but before they do so a Markovian knocks them both out. Then they call for a teleporter. OMG – what is going to happen? Will Lynn be OK? Let me know your thoughts!

#2 Geo-Force is introduced

Jen introduces a new ally to the Black Lightning team: Geo-Force! After Jen has to take Brandon to the safe house aka Gambi’s hideout, she decides to let Brandon in on all their secret identities. Brandon is super excited over the fact he is now in connection with Black Lightning, and figures that he should also think up of a code name. This is when Brandon decides to call himself Geo-Force.

“… Geo-Force, a powerful super-hero and member of the royal family in Markovia. His powers allow him to control gravity and the Earth’s terrain. This has led him to become a long-standing member of the Outsiders, and he later joined the Justice League. His half-sister is Terra of the Teen Titans.”

It’s unclear, as of yet, how much the show will tie in from the comics. However, we do know that Dr. Jace is the reason behind Brandon even coming to Freeland, so she could be the reason behind him gaining powers (just like in the comics). #3 Grace and Anissa reunite

It’s been a long awaited reunion – but FINALLY we see Grace and Anissa back together! While Anissa is with the Perdi, she reconnects with Grace – giving us some #ThunderGrace screen-time. Grace explains to Anissa that she has got a grips on her powers, and can control her shifting now. Since she is all good, Grace decides that she wants to return to Freeland with Anissa – woo! This is so exciting. I can’t wait to see more of these two together.

#4 Jen discovers Khalil is still alive

I’ve been waiting patiently for this moment for a LONG time – and finally it happens! Jen learns the truth about Khalil (or should we say Painkiller), and it did not go down well at all.

Jen and her dad are arguing, over the fact that he didn’t let her in on the plan to capture Odell. As we know, Jen wants to kill Odell, so no wonder that Jefferson wanted to keep her out of it. As they are fighting, Khalil storms through the door and attacks. Black lightning and Painkiller start fighting – while Jen cannot believe her eyes. Her first instinct though is to protect Khalil and she is still unaware of everything he has done and what happened to him. Jen attempts to hold back her dad and Anissa from hurting him. However, in doing so, it allows the A.S.A. so safely take back Odell. Well, damn. Things have just gotten worse!

I truly hope that Khalil can be saved, and Jen and him can reunite happily. What do you think will happen?

Black Lightning airs Mondays at 9/8c on The CW.
