Iconic sitcom TV couples we miss seeing on our screens

At least, they all had their happy ending!

If there’s one thing we (normally) don’t have to worry about when it comes to sitcom TV couples, it’s the possibility of a dramatic ending for them. We can ship them without the fear of seeing one of them die halfway through the show. Sure, like every couple, they might face some struggles along the way. But they will almost always find their way back to each other and have a well-deserved happy ending.

At least, it’s the case for these 4 iconic sitcom TV couples. We laughed and loved along with them, and we miss seeing them on our screens now that their show ended! So it’s time to go down memory lane and remember what was so great about them.

Nick and Jess (New Girl)

New Girl blessed us with not only one, but three iconic ships! As seen in a flashforward in the series finale, all of them had a happy ending with marriage and children. The relationship between Nick and Jess had been hinted at from very early in the show, though.

They had their ups and downs, shared one of the best first kisses on TV, got together and then broke up… But all ended well for them with an engagement and a wedding in the last shortened season of the show. They were truly worth the wait, but now we miss these two roommates who fell in love.

Chandler and Monica (Friends)

Friends first aired 25 years ago and still remains one of the best TV shows ever made. And with it, came one of the best TV couples ever created as well.

Sure, we all know about Ross and Rachel’s chaotic love story with their many breakups. Another couple stole our hearts, though: Chandler and Monica. A few seasons in and after a trip to London, they started dating—and it quickly became one of the best parts of the show.

Indeed, they were a hilarious pair. Especially when they tried to keep their relationship a secret from the others. They also shared a lot of cute and loving moments, from their first “I love you”s to Monica proposing to Chandler or the whole adoption storyline. I recently rewatched the show and fell in love with them all over again.

Jim and Pam (The Office)

There are a lot of sitcom TV couples out there, but if one of them screams #RelationshipGoals, it’s these two. From colleagues to (best) friends to lovers, Jim and Pam truly blessed us with the best tropes during 9 seasons of The Office. Their wedding remains one of my favorite scenes on TV ever.

They went through a rough patch in season 9 but they worked through their issues and the show ended with them being more in love than ever. Pam said it herself: they’re soulmates, after all.

Ben and Leslie (Parks and Recreation)

Just like its big sister The Office, Parks and Recreation was not only a hilarious mockumentary, but it also blessed us with an amazing relationship. Several, actually.

Ben and Leslie were adorable together, always supporting one another—and also, they knew how to have fun. They’re a wonderful example of a couple who didn’t need to go through any unnecessary drama to remain interesting from start to finish. All ended well for them, career-wise but also regarding their relationship.

They’re also a great example of what makes sitcom TV couples so good and lovable. Really, we liked them and we loved them—we still do, actually.

And you, which sitcom TV couples do you miss? Which ones are your all-time favorites? Hit the comments and let us know!

From Brooklyn Nine-Nine to The Office or The Good Place and Parks and Recreation, you can say she’s a real fan of the "Schuriverse" and sitcoms in general.
