The 100 6×12 Season 6, Episode 12, “Adjustment Protocol” aired July 30, 2019 on The CW
As we approach the end of Season 6, the stakes are getting higher and higher. Clarke is still pretending to be Josephine, Bellamy is leading the Children of Gabriel into a fight, the people of Sanctum are learning the truth and we had to saw goodbye to another one of the pillars of the show. Plus, some of them are making a return to space! Let’s look at the biggest takeaways!
Clarke is a selfless hero who deserves the world
Clarke is pulling the con of a lifetime and it’s incredible to watch. Despite the danger it puts her in, Clarke continues to pretend to be Josephine in order to get her people out of Sanctum safely. She is doing all of this at a great risk and deserves the world, instead she was met with another crushing blow.
It is impossible to think of a more tragic way to kill Abby considering the circumstances. As Clarke pretends to be Josephine, she must embrace Josephine’s mother in the body of her now dead mom AND hold it together so she doesn’t get herself and her friends killed too. It’s absolutely heartbreaking and Eliza Taylor deserves ALL THE AWARDS!
Abby was more than just “Clarke’s Mom”
It’s so hard to think that we won’t have Abby around anymore. She was Clarke’s mom and the go-to doctor, but she was so much more. Abby and Raven have had a bond since season 1. Abby and Raven worked together to get Raven down to Earth and continued to be close and much more equal than the other “kids” on the show. Raven had a rough life with her real mother, and Abby became the mother Raven needed for many years, including when they went head to head in recent seasons.
Watching them exchange warm words before Abby was killed gave them a very full circle ending, but it didn’t make it any easier to stomach. Another character that has been by Abby’s side is Jackson. Even when they didn’t agree, these friends have had each other’s backs. It was devastating to watch Jackson fight (literally and unsuccessfully) to save Abby. RIP Abby.
Something major must have happened to Octavia in the Anomaly
We saw her go in with Diyoza, all dirty and violent. She emerged clean and seemingly with a new outlook on life. We have seen Octavia show a new side since her return as she works toward redemption, and it was even more prominent in this episode. Even as Miller yelled at her, she remained calm and patient – two words we never really use to describe the former “Cannibal Queen.”
With Octavia going through such a profound change after the Anomaly, we got to thinking – what if this Anomaly isn’t a black hole? What if it’s a gateway to another moon or planet? If that’s the case, we hope Diyoza is over there living like the boss she is – and that she has finally birthed that damn child!
