‘Shadowhunters’: #SaveShadowhunters campaign picks up speed again
Still loud, still proud, and far from giving up!
As Shadowhunters fans across the globe get ready for the epic season 3 finale, the campaign to #SaveShadowhunters is picking up speed again. The message seems to be loud and clear: With everything this fandom has achieved over the last eleven months, the Shadowfam isn’t going to give up now.
Billboards in Times Square: Oops, we did it again!
And what could say “We aren’t going anywhere” better than a huge, 3 fold billboard in New York’s Times Square? These jaw-droppers were designed by @IconicNephilim, paid for by the fans and organized by @BoomBitchesSH.
Yesterday, Shadowhunters‘ very own Luke Baines, praised for his portrayal of Clary’s evil demon brother Jonathan, released the following statement on his Instagram – high praise for the campaign indeed:
“Resignation is one of the scariest, most insidious forces we face as a generation – the numb acceptance that we’re powerless and unable to change things. This campaign has proved how much this show means to so many people, and I am so humbled to have played a small part in it. For those who don’t know, these are billboards in New York City paid for by the #Shadowhunter fans. The second time they’ve done this, after getting billboards (and a banner plane) in LA, London, Toronto, Seoul… to name a few. Not to mention also raising thousands of dollars for charity.” – Luke Baines
Other cast and crew members were equally quick to react, recognizing the fans’ commitment.
Besides this amazing publicity stunt, there are lots of other projects that show that the #SaveShadowhunters campaign won’t go down without putting up a fight. Here’s a quick synopsis:
Continuing to raise money for charity
Happy news for everybody who wants to show support to the LGBTQ+ community and express their love for Malec at the same time: Basic Shadowhunters Stuff has brought back their popular LOVE IS LOVE shirt. Needless to say that all profits will go directly to The Trevor Project! What better way to show our love?! And over $1,500 in just two days? Way to go, Shadowfam!
#ThankyouShadowhunters campaign
Once the finale has been aired, the #SaveShadowhunters campaign will reach a crucial juncture. Consequently, it is more important than ever to make sure your voices are being heard. That is why the fan group @ShadowfamD has organized the #ThankyouShadowhunters campaign.
The basic idea behind it is to get the hashtag #ThankyouShadowhunters trending immediately after episodes 3×21 and 3×22 have been aired. Head over to their twitter page for more information – and check out some amazing templates to use for your messages to the cast, the crew and the friends you have made during the last eleven months! Let’s make some noise!
“Make a wish” project
Another fun project you might want to participate in is the “Make a wish” campaign that @NiKaTaru and @safeshadows initiated in cooperation with @notsilentsis. Its main aim is to remind the renowned German production company Constantin Film that a continued/renewed effort to save the show would be very much appreciated. As always, remember to be kind and polite!
The more people join in, the louder the message will be: While season 3 is going to come to an end tomorrow, the fight to #SaveShadowhunters is far from over.
Taking part in the project is easy: You only need to “make a wish” as to why you would like to see more of Shadowhunters and be sure to address your tweet to Constantin Film. Also use the two hashtags #SaveShadowhunters and #Shadowhunters as well as the picture specifically designed for the project. Here are some examples:
