‘The 100’ Season 6 Premiere: “Sanctum” review

"Dangerous curves ahead."

The 100 Season 6 Premiere, Season 6, Episode 1, aired April 30th on The CW

There was a lot happening in the Season 6 premiere of The 100. Some of the peeps went down to the new “planet” and some were back on the ship handling old dramas and such. The crew on the ground uncovered some new info and things took a dark turn. Here’s what went down.

Clarke gets sh*t on

One thing that stuck out in this otherwise great premiere was the treatment of the woman who has saved them all MANY times – Clarke Griffin. Raven, Emori and Murphy waste no time talking shit in this episode and it’s super annoying. There is not one person in that group that is without fault, but Clarke is the only one that gets constantly called out for her mistakes. Echo and Bellamy stick up for her, but it’ still super frustrating.

Bunker drama that just won’t die

Monty and Harper did not give their lives so everyone could keep bickering like jerks. YES, there was a lot that went down in the bunker, but they have all been given a second chance to be better. Octavia needs to chill. She kept her people alive, but her reign of terror is over and we are ready to see these people move past their darkest days and embrace this second chance.

Bellamy and Clarke finally have a moment to talk and it’s long, long overdue. They even smile and laugh! This show has done all it can to keep these two apart and it’s refreshing to see them back in the same place, working together. Bellamy was wronged by Clarke last season, but instead of focusing on this, Bellamy uses this quiet moment to apologize for not being able to answer her calls. It’s super sweet and hopefully the first of many between these two. They are the heart of the show and we are ready to see that bond back in action.

Murphy show

Why did they unfreeze this dude? He’s super entertaining, but he is definitely a frustrating mission companion for the crew on nearly every outing on this show. His song certainly livened things up, but clearly Emori was NOT a fan – or it was the toxic air, either way she put an end to that noise.

Shaw and Raven

Raven felt out of character in this episode. She isn’t usually so rage-filled, so hopefully it’s just a side effect of her time in stasis because we did not love her actions in this episode. That said, we are super sad about Shaw and are worried about how it will impact her going forward. RIP Shaw.

Mackson

Miller and Jackson deserve the world. That is all.

Where do we go from here?

Kane is back on ice, the new world is toxic and we are so worried about all of our favorites! How are they supposed to be better in this new world if the air they breath is turning them into killers?! But don’t worry, Clarke will figure it out and save them. She always does.
