‘Supernatural’ Season 14 Finale brings back some familiar faces

Oh. My. Chuck.

Supernatural Season 14 Finale, 14×20: Season 14, Episode 20, “Moriah,” Aired April 25, 2019

Supernatural’s final season finale (next season will be the SERIES finale) did not disappoint! After 14 seasons, Supernatural has really perfected the art of the season finale. From the opening recap (“The Road So Far”) set to the show’s unofficial theme song – “Carry On Wayward Son,” to the final moments that always set up the next season – Supernatural season finales are always pretty epic.  Let’s recap!

Chuck!

After Jack causes some major global chaos, God decides to pop back in! God, or Chuck as he prefers to be called, is back to “help” the Winchesters with their little Jack problem. He gives them a gun that will kill Jack and the person who pulls the trigger. Yikes.

It’s dramatic AF and just as Dean is staring Jack down, he does something nobody was expecting – he throws the gun down. Chuck is pissed and it comes off super weird. That’s when the Winchesters realize that they are and have always been pawns in Chuck’s great, big story. They aren’t people to Chuck, they are just characters.

Don’t shoot God

Sam shot God. It’s so crazy that this is actually a plot point, but welcome to Season 14, ya’ll! Sam pulled the trigger, only it didn’t kill God (duh), it just pisses him the f*ck off. He waves his hand and ushers in “The End.” Chuck has cracked open Hell and started another apocalypse.

Jack

Sadly, the loss of Jack isn’t something anyone can dwell on for long in this episode. After Dean refuses to kill Jack, Chuck does it. It’s super messed up and heartbreaking, but the Winchesters aren’t going to have time to mourn their fallen friend because there are monsters LITERALLY closing in around them.

And in true Supernatural fashion, Jack’s not dead-dead. He is with Goo Lucifer (#Goocifer) and Billie, the Reaper for some reason. We can’t wait to see what that’s all about next season.

Nostalgia

Speaking of next season – holy crap. Not only did Chuck crack open Hell, but he unleashed some old favorites! There were quite a few familiar faces from the Winchester brothers’ past. The Woman in White from the pilot was released. We also saw the vengeful mirror ghost from Season 1 episode, “Bloody Mary” and what looked like the creepy clown ghost of John Wayne Gacy from the current season!

Next Season

After it was announced that Season 15 would be the last season of Supernatural, we were super curious to see how’d they end Season 14 and we are not disappointed! The original plan of the show was a five season arc, ending with the apocalypse, so it feels fitting that this show would go out with an “end of days” type of situation to deal with. Also, having them take on some of their former monsters and ghosts is such a nice touch of nostalgia.

This was a great season finale, and one of the best episode of Season 14. We can’t wait to see what the final season of Supernatural has in store!

Also, Sam’s favorite singer is Celine Dion and now we love him even more! See you in Season 15!
