Coming off of Captain Marvel‘s billion-dollar run and with Avengers: Endgame just around the corner, it’s natural to look at what’s coming next. Black Widow’s long-overdue solo film is scheduled to start filming this June. Den of Geek reported during a press junket for Hellboy (Out on April 12th). David Harbour (Stranger Things), who recently joined the upcoming film had these comments:
“I think it’s slated to start in June, I don’t think they have it fully-boarded yet, but it’s a great character. I’m really excited about it. The cast is fleshing out (with) Scarlett and Florence Pugh, I think they said. I know they were talking about Rachel Weisz. There’s some really great actresses.”
Details about plot, characters and where it takes place in the MCU are scarce. Florence Pugh (Fighting with my Family) is set to play a main antagonist in the upcoming film. Also, Harbour had some great things to say about the director of Natasha’s solo adventure, Cate Shortland:
“I can’t really say anything about the story. It’s very interesting. It’s very surprising. When they pitched it to me, I was very surprised, but I will say, the thing that really takes it over the edge for me is this director, Cate Shortland, who made this movie Lore. It came out back in 2012, or something. She is a phenomenally sophisticated film maker, really brilliant, really passionate and just a beautiful human being”
Black Widow is a long ways off, but in the meantime, all the pieces are in place. You can still find Harbour in Stranger Things season 3 on July 4th weekend on Netflix.
Avengers: Endgame releases worldwide on April 26th.
