6 of the funniest Loki moments from the MCU
The best of the God of Mischief.
It’s almost time for Avengers: Endgame, and the Marvel fandom has flooded the internet with fan theories. Our favorite is the Loki-is-actually-Bruce-Banner theory, thus why he couldn’t “Hulk Out” in Avengers: Infinity War. While the powers that be at Marvel Entertainment have debunked that theory, we’re still holding out.
In the meantime, let’s put the somber note that Loki, played by the brilliant Tom Hiddleston, actually may be dead this time aside, and look back at some the funniest moments the God of Mischief has had in his multi-year run in the MCU.
In no particular order…
1. “This usually works?”
In the first Avengers film, Loki is the butt of several jokes. When he tries to turn Tony into one of his minions with his infinity-stone powered staff, the “Sceptor”, it doesn’t quite go as planned.

2 & 3. Literally every scene Loki has with Hulk.
The first scene in the below video is also from Avengers, when Loki tries to tell Hulk he’s a “God”, and Hulk just whips him around like a rag doll. Classic.
The second is from Thor: Ragnarok when Loki sits down with the ever-amazing Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster, for what he thinks is an ass-whooping of his brother’s. What he finds out is the prized champion that’s been teased is actually Hulk, and thus the infamous line, “I need to get off this planet.”
4. Loki as Captain America
It’s no secret that it took a few tries for Thor and Loki to reach their potential as one of the most hilarious duos on the silver screen (Ragnarok is the movie that really catapulted their characters into hilarious awesomeness), but there are a few shining moments, like this one in Thor: The Dark World.
5. “Get Help”
Followed by a tearful moment, “Loki, I thought the world of you.” (Ugh, the FEELS), Ragnarok director Taika Waititi #blesses us with some comedic relief with this scene.
6. The Snake Story
This moment in Ragnarok is more an applaud to Chris Hemsworth’s quick delivery as Thor telling the hilarious “snake story”, but Tom Hiddleston’s sly smile as Loki recalling their youth is a reminder of how much these two brothers really love each other and that their comedic chemistry just keeps getting better.
