This may be the golden age of television, but for some loyal TV fans, it feels more like the Red Wedding! Fans are still rocked by the cancellation of the Netflix Marvel shows, Shadowhunters, Nightflyers, Timeless, in addition to the troubling news that One Day at a Time is in danger. And now, another shock wave has hit social media – Wynonna Earp is in trouble.
What makes this news even more shocking is that it was already picked up for Season 4 last year! Production should already be under way, but things have stalled. Why? Well, that part is a little unclear. The property is owned by IDW Publishing and the show is on the (usually fan friendly) SYFY Network.

A scan on twitter seems to point to funding, but we were unable to pin down a definite source for these rumors. Either way – the fight to save this hard drinking, demon killin’ bad-ass show is on. Showrunner, Emily Andras tweeted a simple “Don’t f*ck with my family” and Earpers took it as a call to arms.
Some cast members have also taken to Twitter to express their love for the show, leading to even more concern from fans. With the lack of info and the insane love for the show, fans are left with only one option – to fight.

The Earpers began a Twitter campaign to share their stories of what Wynonna Earp means to them. They are tagging SYFY and IDW in these tweets so that this outpouring doesn’t go unnoticed. This fandom managed to earn the show a People’s Choice Award in 2018, so we have no doubt that the Earpers will make an impact.
Will it be enough to make Season 4 happen as planned? We hope so! This show is unmatched in it’s portrayal of pregnancy and continues to impress with it’s stories of sisterhood, LGBTQ relationships and found families.
