‘Shadowhunters’: Steve Byers talks Underhill, 3B and sandwiches

Steve Byers plays Underhill, a Shadowhunter who was inspired by Alec to come out at work after Alec kissed Magnus in front of everyone. He has since become one of Alec’s go-to team members and is one of the best Shadowhunters at the New York Institute. We chatted with the always entertaining, Steve Byers to find out what we can hope to see from Underhill in Shadowhunters Season 3B!

What can you tease about Underhill’s storyline in Shadowhunters 3B?
Let’s be honest. You’re only asking so that I might give something away about one of the beautiful kids and their story-lines. ‘Ain’t my first rodeo. 😉 Underhill just wants everyone to be happy.
SAME! Will we finally learn Underhill’s first name?
Yes – assuming the scene makes the cut – it happens. You’d have to ask the two lovely men with all the answers on that one.
This fandom is huge, loyal and has been fighting for this show every single day. What has that been like for you as a member of this cast?
It’s awe inspiring to see what passionate people the fans really are. As a whole it’s breathtaking and humbling. It’s also breaks my heart to see disappointment from the fandom as they fight such insurmountable odds.
They really are amazing. What is the last TV show you binged?
Secret City, Friends Friends from College ( I like to do a happy and a drama at the same time)
Underhill had a very important and powerful moment with Alec in Season 3A. Now that he is out, will we get to see him in a relationship in Season 3B?

Steve! Okay, what is your all-time favorite video game?
The Witcher III : Wild Hunt (I’m not going to say FAR CRY 5 just because I play the best video game character ever in it, NICK RYE…I have some class).
Is there a scene or episode you are particularly excited for fans to see?(Also, #NickRyeRules)
I’m just happy the fans are getting more of the show they love. Glad to be a part of it!
Very important question – in your opinion, what is the perfect sandwich?
OOOOOOoooooo this IS very important. But sooo hard. Ugh… It’s really about how it’s made. There is an art/science behind how the ingredients go in. The order. I’m still a meat eater, but I have found vegetarian sandwiches that blew my mind because of the way that they were assembled.- Instructional-…..Bread product (lightly toasted) , Butter, Lettuce (any kind), Sauce (any kind but must include Mustard and or Mayo) Spicy vegetable (See peppers usually) , Meaty substance (If not Veggie)–If Veggie must have hummus– Pickles, Onions (or other accent veg.) Cheese, Butter, Bread product (lightly toasted) again.
All that said, I would make out with a plain grilled cheese sandwich. I said what I said.
I need you to host a cooking show, stat.
