#ShadowhuntersPosterChallenge Part 6: A visit to the Downworld
Part 6 of our series focuses on art featuring the Downworld
Welcome to part 6 of our #ShadowhuntersPosterChallenge appreciation series. Today, we will take a walk on the wild side! Are you prepared for our visit to the Downworld? While our Izzy-centric post already introduced Daylighter Simon Lewis and Seelie Knight Meliorn, today’s post will include art of even more supernatural beings and hybrid creatures.
People like you and me would probably think it was cool to be an all powerful warlock or a beautiful, at one with nature Seelie. However, this only proves one thing: We are just some pitiful, foolish mundanes! Because with the Clave around, it isn’t all fun and games.

The reality of being a Downworlder within the Shadow World looks more like this: You are usually considered to be a lesser being, inferior, dishonest, evil or all of these things. The Clave – the political body of all Shadowhunters based in Idris – tends to be prejudiced and has a rigid black and white view of the world. After all, “the Law is the Law.”
Because of that, the fight against preconceived notions and stereotypical conceptions is a recurring theme and part of the everyday struggle of being a Downworlder. Doesn’t exactly sound like our idea of fun, does it?
Werewolves
We are lucky to have Luke (Isaiah Mustafa) as the leader of the New York pack. Also dubbed “Papa Wolf” by fans, the alpha is all about integrity and loyalty. He also is a firm believer in the Downworld Council as installed by Alec Lightwood. Of course we also absolutely adore Alisha Wainwright as Maia and can’t wait to see where 3b takes her.

Vampires
The Vampire coven is led by Raphael Santiago (David Castro) and resides at the Hotel Dumort. Heidi McKenzie (Tessa Mossey) is the latest addition to the bloodsucking family and sure means trouble, particularly for Simon whom she has developed an unhealthy obsession with. Can he keep her off his back? 3b, we need answers!

The Fair Folk
Let’s face it: The Seelie Queen is usually up to no good. Her scheming ways almost always cause drama – yet she and her people add that little bit extra flair to the mix that makes things interesting. We can’t wait for Kimberly-Sue Murray to bring the Queen’s adult form to life!

Warlocks
Summoning food with just the snap of your fingers? Enjoying the convenience of portal-travelling (New York-Paris in just a few seconds)? Oh, the joys of being a warlock! The local warlock community has always been led by Magnus Bane (Harry Shum Jr), but recently, much to Magnus’ dismay, the despicable Lorenzo Rey has managed to snatch the title of High Warlock of Brooklyn. Will Magnus be able to get back his magic and his title? We desperately hope so! Because Lorenzo as High Warlock? That’s just wrong on so many levels!
More about Magnus here: #ShadowhuntersPosterChallenge Part 4

Let’s not forget (greater) demons
Demons are pesky, but greater demons are even worse, not to mention infinitely more powerful. So how can they be defeated?

Alliances
As most of your art work suggests, alliances must be made and friendships forged. Not only between Downworlders, but also between Downworlders and Shadowhunters. Forget prejudices and put fears aside.

Because in the end…

So much Downworlder goodness! The next part of our series will focus on Malec, Haline and Shadowhunters GLAAD nomination!
As always, even more #ShadowhuntersPosterChallenge goodness can be found on Twitter.
Shadowhunters will return 25 February on Freeform and Hulu.
