Hamilton songs and ‘ships? YES! Music, TV, Broadway and love – it’s a winning combo of fandom fun that we decided to stick in a blender to see what comes out! ‘Ships are what we affectionately call couples (short for relationships) and there are so many ways to love them. In this article, we are going to love them *jazz hands* – Broadway style!
If you have been living under a rock and you haven’t heard of Hamilton, it’s a Broadway smash that tells the story of founding father, Alexander Hamilton. The show (from the brilliant mind of Lin-Manuel Miranda) is a stunning retelling of the “ten dollar founding father without a father” and his rise from immigrant orphan to our nation’s first Treasury Secretary.

Alex and Michael (Roswell, New Mexico) – “Satisfied”
Notable lyrics: “But when I fantasize at night, it’s Alexander’s eyes.” and “I romanticize what might have been…”
Roswell, New Mexico‘s Michael and Alex have so much chemistry and we are already obsessed with this duo. They had a strong connection before they even spoke a word, but their unspoken moments and longing stares speak volumes. Their scenes are absolutely electric and we can’t wait to see where this ‘ship goes as season 1 continues! And like Angelica in this song, there is such a sense of yearning with this ‘ship and we LOVE it.

Oliver and Felicity (Arrow) – “Wait For It”
Notable Lyrics: “And we keep loving anyway. We laugh and we cry and we break and we make our mistakes.” and “My mother was a genius, my father commanded respect…when they died they left no instructions, just a legacy to protect.”
Oliver and Felicity’s road has always been a complex one. Fans patiently wait and watch as the circumstances around them threaten to dismantle their love, but it never works. And even when they aren’t together – they are always connected. They might make us wait for it, but they always find their way back to each other in the end.
Gert and Chase (Runaways) – “Burn”
Notable Lyrics: “You forfeit all rights to my heart. You forfeit the place in our bed.”
Gert and Chase never really got a chance at a normal relationship. In Season 2 we got to see them really explore their feelings for each other, but because of their living situation and runaway status, everything was more complicated. When Chase made a big move at the end of Season 2, we felt Gert’s pain and (justifiable) anger.
Magnus and Alec (Shadowhunters) – “Helpless”
Notable lyrics: “Look into your eyes, and the sky’s the limit I’m helpless!”
Magnus and Alec are such an amazing couple and – just like them – we are helplessly in love! Alec and Magnus have proven time and time again that they are one of the best love stories on TV. Like in the song, they were smitten from the start and now they are unbreakable. We can’t wait to see how their story continues in Shadowhunters Season 3B!

Barry and Iris (The Flash) – “That Would Be Enough”
Notable Lyrics: “I don’t pretend to know the challenges you’re facing, the worlds you keep erasing and creating in your mind.” and “The fact that you’re alive is a miracle.”
Barry and Iris are so solid, despite the recently family drama that entered their world (Hi, Nora!). Barry and Iris are a team outside of the lab and now that Barry has really embraced Iris being a part of Team Flash, they are as unbreakable as ever. And, much like Eliza with Alexander, Iris is often trying to get Barry to slow down and look around at the amazing life they have built.
Bellamy and Clarke (The 100) – “My Shot”
Notable Lyrics: “Or will the blood we shed begin an endless cycle of vengeance and death with no defendants?” and “We’re gonna rise up (time to take a shot).”
Bellamy and Clarke have a very strong bond and fans are still holding out hope that this couple’s incredible connection will grow even more in Season 6. Timing has never really been on their side, and they have been fighting someone or something since the day they met – it’s about time they “take a shot.”
