#ShadowhuntersPosterChallenge Part 2: Fan art of Clary, Jace and Clace

Welcome back to our little #ShadowhuntersPosterChallenge appreciation series! As promised, Clary (Katherine McNamara) and Jace (Dominic Sherwood) will be in the spotlight. We can’t wait to see what 3b has in store for them! There is also that tremendous sliver of trepidation because Clace somehow always means heartbreak. Right?

To say that these two lovebirds haven’t had it easy is probably the understatement of the century. Their relationship has been an emotional roller coaster ride right from the start and judging from the way the mid-season’s finale ended, it will continue to be a wild ride.

The good news, however, is that we aren’t completely clueless as to what is going to happen. From various teasers, we kind of know what to expect. Will that make the heartbreak easier to bear? No, but it will probably prepare us enough to hopefully survive. Be sure to stock up on tissues, everyone!

What we expect to see:

A guilt-ridden Jace

… because throwing your girlfriend off the roof will do that to a guy, possessed or not. As the short 3b snippet has shown us, Jace is definitely not okay and his feelings and actions are all over the place. And who could blame him? He has literally been to hell and back.

Naturally, this will also impact his relationship with Clary.  In an interview with justjaredjr.com, Katherine McNamara teases about what we can expect from season 3b Clace-wise: “[…] The last time they spoke was when he threw her off the roof…there’s always that moment of darkness in their relationship.”

More heartbreak and a lot of emotion

Let’s hear it from Kat once again: ” For better or for worse, [Jace and Clary] are both different people now so we’ll see how that affects their relationship moving forward. It definitely doesn’t make it easy.” In one of his popular impromptu Q & A sessions, Matt Hastings, executive producer of Shadowhunters seasons 2 and 3, underlines that sentiment:

Of course, you know what they say about expectations: “Nothing is ever black and white in the Shadow World,” Kat tweeted on January 19. “Expect the unexpected, angels.”

What we want to see

Clace happiness.

That’s it in a nutshell, pure and simple. We want them carefree and blissfully in love, holding hands and sharing kisses under the Eiffel Tower (and we don’t care how cliché that is).

In the meantime, we’ll settle for a Clace reunion. Although Matt said his lips were sealed with regard to any specifics of that reunion, he made our day by giving us so much more than a silver lining:

Obviously, fans are hyped up for more Clace content!  The posters reflect that excitement as well as all their hopes and dreams for their favorite ship without neglecting the couple’s status quo.
