‘Roswell, New Mexico’: 5 reasons to watch (and obsess)

This show is going to be EPIC!

Roswell, New Mexico‘s premiere is getting closer and closer and we want you to be excited as we are! This adaptation of the Roswell High book series ages up the characters (thank gawd) and has them facing real and relevant issues in our society. Cowboys, aliens and representation – yeehaw!

(You can listen to our previous Roswell podcast episodes RIGHT HERE!)

Obvi, we are beyond excited for this series! We have even had a podcast dedicated to this show since it was in development! Our Roswell Podcast will be back soon with weekly recaps and a new name – Space Cowboys: A Roswell Podcast! We can’t wait to geek out with you!

Here are 5 reasons to watch and obsess over this new (sure to be a hit) series when it premieres on Jan. 15th!

#1 What’s old is new again. Yes, we loved the original and it will always hold a place in our hearts, but this take on the books is so important in today’s world. We fully understand holding something near and dear, but there is no show or story that is so precious that it’s untouchable. Every story can be retold by hopping into another person’s shoes and the shoes over at Roswell, New Mexico‘s are WOKE AF. Bring it on!

#2 Nathan Parsons. Yep, that’s it. That’s the reason.

CW

#3 Relevant issues. As stated in #1, there is always room for a new perspective when it comes to storytelling. We can’t wait to see how the complexities of Liz’s undocumented immigrant parents parallels the space alien story-line. Liz’s heritage will add a new layer of complexity and (hopefully) understanding when it comes to the aliens in Roswell.

CW

#4 Boss Lady. Anyone who’s been a fan of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals knows the name Julie Plec. Get ready to meet her mentee and all around fierce female, Carina Adly MacKenzie! MacKenzie developed this adaptation for the network following her run as a writer on The Originals. We can’t wait to see her vision in action as she writes and serves as EP for Roswell, New Mexico!

#5 Romance. We love superheros and their particular brand of tormented love, but we can’t wait to see the Max and Liz love story unfold. Give us all of the feels! WE. ARE. READY.
