Mingle All The Way Movie Recap
“Mingle All the Way” is a new networking app designed to pair busy professionals together for upcoming events, without long-term romance. Molly, founder of the app, is determined to prove to her family that it is a success. Therefore, she joins the app, and meets another busy professional, Jeff. When Molly and Jeff are matched, they are both horrified to realise they’ve already had not one, but two disastrous previous encounters. Nevertheless, they agree to stay matched for all their respective upcoming holiday engagements. As the pair gets closer, perhaps their business arrangement might turn into something more this holiday season.
Let me just start off by saying that an app for male and females to work together as business partners was just not going to end up that way – am I right? Don’t get me wrong if you really are a workaholic then the app will be used exactly the way the description says, however, if you’re as good looking as Molly and Jeff, there’s just no way they aren’t going to fall absolutely head over heels in love with each other.
Molly was a wonderful character who was admirable and relatable. She is a strong working business-woman with no time for love in her life and no time for failures. Her mother is somewhat a loving mother, however, she doesn’t hold back when it comes to brutality and having a filter over her mouth.
She consistently encourages Molly to return to working for her and has absolutely no faith in Molly creating a successful app. On top of that, Molly’s sister is on the brink of getting engaged, leading their mother to dig a little too deep in to how Molly’s love life is going, or not going. Molly knows exactly what she wants and she won’t let any obstacle or snarky comment from her mother allow her to call out defeat. Not even the oh so handsome, Jeff. Or so she thinks.
Jeff is a major family man, who you will see spend a lot of time with his niece throughout. He is a massive Christmas lover, getting himself involved in all sorts of activities such as crafts-work and gift wrapping. Like Molly, Jeff is also a strong working business-man who doesn’t have much time for anything except completing his co-workers tasks with no credit and tortuously watching all of his colleagues attend couples days out, whilst his single self sits back. In order for Molly to pair up with a potential investor, she has to join the online app herself to prove that this is in no way like a dating app and is for business only.
When Jeff is told he’s less likely to have the opportunity to become head of a new branch opening in Los Angeles, due to his lack of another half, Jeff’s sister signs him up for the app, whilst Molly’s co-worker also signs her up. Prior to signing up for ‘Mingle All The Way’, Molly and Jeff have already had two disastrous encounters, where they have already made their decisions on how they feel about each other – so, when they both reunite to attend business events together through the Christmas holidays, their reactions are far from delight. Jeff believed that Molly was too work orientated, whilst Molly thought Jeff was well… just straight up stubborn and arrogant. However, they had to make this work somehow and they did – proving that Molly’s app was more than just two business partners passing on a helping hand.
The two begin to use each other to their advantages – Jeff introducing Molly as his girlfriend to work colleagues, in order for him to be invited to all the couple’s events and have a higher opportunity on running the Los Angeles Office. Whilst Molly introduces Jeff as her boyfriend to her family, in order to have her mother stop pestering her about her love life.
What was supposed to be a fake relationship, soon became so much more when Molly saw just how family orientated Jeff was – same goes for Jeff when he realizes there was more to Molly than just her work, or the work he knows about at least. Like any movie, there are obstacles along the way such as an ex-partner, a possible work transfer and the truth… but Molly and Jeff don’t let anything stand in the way of the feelings blossoming between one another.
Of all the Hallmark movies I’ve watched so far this holiday season, Mingle All The Way has got to be one of my most favorites of them all! The connection between Molly and Jeff is magnetic and I absolutely love the ‘Mingle All The Way’ app idea… although, I do think it would be a cute idea for all the single people of the world to find their special person during the Christmas season through an app with this name. Can this happen?
Let us know what you’re favorite ones are so far in the comments below and keep a look out for which movie I review next!
