‘Riverdale’ 3×07: 12 craziest moments from “Manhunter”

Chapter 41: Archie does dumb sh*t.

Riverdale 3×07, Season 3, Episode 07, “Chapter Forty-One: Manhunter,” Aired Dec. 5, 2018

This episode was split into three in a sense. First, it was Archie and Jughead’s farm and Hiram drama. Then it was Veronica’s money woes and new business venture. And lastly, we got to see what Betty has been up to at the Sisters of Quiet Mercy. The common thread (and drama starter) for all areas of this episode? Hiram Lodge. But how is it all connected?

12 Craziest Moments of Riverdale 3×07

#1 Creepy kid with a gun. Archie and Jughead thinking they can crash at a random persons farm was one thing, but being greeted by a creepy kid with a gun was just next level crazy.

#2 Letting Archie make the decisions. Oh, Jughead. Why on Earth would you let Archie make the call to do anything? He has the worst track record of the gang. Like letting a random stranger shave your face with a straight razor – and then making out with her and then immediately spilling the truth about everything. Dude.

CW

#3 Athens is a ghost town. The sleepy little town that the boys have stumbled into is even creepier than Riverdale. When Juggie heads into town, there isn’t anyone there, but there are symbols similar to the ones carved into the backs of the dead Gargoyle sacrifices and – you guessed it – there are kids playing G&G.

#4 Fizzle Rocks and a prison plan? Yeah, that sounds like Hiram Lodge alright.

#5 Laurie Lake is a sellout. After making out with Archie, Laurie clocks him with a frying pan to sell him to Hiram Lodge in exchange for her brother and father’s freedom. Hiram’s reach is longer than we thought.

#6 Archie a murderer? Before Jughead and Archie escape, Archie is super serious about killing Hiram. Thank GAWD Archie has Jughead to keep him on the right side of things because killing Hiram wouldn’t end Archie’s troubles, it would multiply them and ruin his chances at a Veronica reconciliation forever.

CW

#7 Veronica moves into Pop’s. It’s nice to see Veronica doing her own thing outside of her father and outside of Archie. WE SUPPORT YOU GIRL!

#8 “Are you angry about something?” – Hiram “Clueless AF” Lodge

#9 Playing for Pop’s. Veronica’s mock-tail biz isn’t doing great, so she decides to jump in the big game and host a Casino Night. She takes her Dad’s advice and cheats her cheating business partner and wins! It puts V in the black, but it seems like she’s really just going dark.

#10 EthelHead. Watching Betty pretend to be okay with the insanity happening at the Sisters of Quiet Mercy is chilling. Her entire stretch (with narration) feels like a completely different episode. She fakes a seizure after seeing Hiram talking to one of the sisters and launches into a classic Betty info investigation. She has her file, but she can’t escape the madness (or Ethel) just yet.

#11. Hiram and the Gargoyle King connection? If Hiram and the Gargoyle King are all connected and the game is just a trippy ass marketing ploy to get these kids hooked on drug laced pop rocks then – wait, this is Riverdale, so that sounds about right.

#12 Betty. Welp. They broke Betty and she can’t escape. Now what?
