‘The Good Doctor’ 2×10 recap: Most intense moments from “Quarantine”

The Good Doctor season 2 fall finale recap: Season 2, Episode 10, “Quarantine,” aired Dec. 3, 2018.

Excuse me, but I think I have to go cry into my pillow after that episode. It was all TOO MUCH. Literally, everything sad and bad that could have happened, happened in this episode. Don’t get me wrong, it was a good episode, but it hurt my heart. Now we have to wait over a month until we see how everything plays out? I’M FINE.

Shoutout for the episode starting with a Christmas song. That is a sure way to catch my attention. Let’s dig in.

Quarantine

A big infection has taken over the hospital and nobody is safe. And when I say nobody, you best believe that literally, nobody is safe. The hospital issues a quarantine for those that were on the flight of the first man who died from the infection. Shaun, Morgan and Lim were on the case.

Morgan is tasked to an infected EMT who has a thing for her. It was actually really sweet because we see Morgan’s walls come down for this guy. He’s cheesy and dorky, but Morgan is liking every moment of it. They talk about their first date while trying to save him.

Unfortunately, he died on the table with Morgan trying to save him. I was so sad for her at this moment because we never saw Morgan feel. So to see someone who she let her emotions show for died on her table, well, it was heartbreaking. I bet this is going to set her off even more.

Park’s son was also caught up in the infection, and his face, while his son was falling ill, was also devastating. Honestly, this episode broke my heart and crushed it a million times over. It was one rude episode. The most shocking was Lim falling victim to the infection. Oh crap.

Like I said, this was not a fun episode for anyone.

Claire and Melendez getting along

Claire and Melendez are working together to save a man with leukemia. However, it turns out that his donor also happens to be a man quarantined. What are the chances? Seriously, that is some bad juju going on in that hospital. At the end, they are unable to save the man.

WHY, WHY!?!?

Throughout the episode, we see Shaun start to break down a bit. It started with his lunch and then escalated to the buzzing light. By the end of the episode, we see Shaun crash to the fall, rolling into a ball as everything comes crashing down. Can I just say I will never listen to “Silent Night” without thinking of this sad, sad episode?

Meanwhile, Leah takes Glassman to his appointment. I love Glassman’s sass towards her about her sass. He seems to be like me and has no time for her games. I feel that, Glassman. We see them sitting together in the waiting room as he waits for his results.

Then everything breaks my heart again. Glassman walks outside, taking out his results, stating that “it’s back.” Could we not have had one happy moment in this episode? I swear that was the breaking point for me. Everything just hurts.

More thoughts

  • Lim and Melendez sleeping together?! UHHHH
  • How dare that man call Shaun an idiot? I liked that Park’s son stuck up for Shaun in that moment — good kid.
  • MY HEART HURTS.
  • If Lim dies, I’m going to throw my TV out the window.
  • Lim is definitely having some great character growth, though.
  • Also if Glassman dies, I will double throw my TV out the window.
  • Have I mentioned that my heart hurts? Well, it does.

I cannot believe this episode. It was, by far, the most nutso episode ever. While I am super sad, it was really well done and adds some serious drama to the show. What did you think of this episode? Sound off below or tweet us!
