‘Riverdale’ casts a familiar face as Hiram’s mistress

A family affair INDEED!

Hiram’s mistress hasn’t appeared on Riverdale yet, but she is already our new favorite character! When it comes to casting, Riverdale has always been ahead of the curve. This is evidenced by the kids/parents resemblance which will be showcased in the flashback episode titled, “The Midnight Club” airing Nov. 11th. This time the casting news isn’t about resemblance, but about natural, fiery chemistry! Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos’ real life wife will be playing Hiram Lodge’s mistress!

Kelly shared the news on her Instagram with a photo of her in a high back chair, a plunging neckline and a cane! She captioned the fierce photo with, “It’s a family affair……..Hiram’s mistress. 23 years of auditioning for a role i was born to play. Coming soon to the @thecwriverdale.”

Check out Kelly’s Instagram announcement:

According to EW, “Ripa will guest star as Mrs. Mulwray, a woman the CW describes as “confident and tough.” As Hiram’s supposed mistress, Mrs. Mulwray is a beautiful, icy femme fatale who finds herself embroiled in a conspiracy much bigger than she initially thought.”

Also, Kelly isn’t the only member of the Consuelos clan to join the show. In case you missed it – their son, Michael is taking on the role of young Hiram in the Riverdale 90’s flashback episode. It really is a family affair and we are HERE. FOR. IT. Michael is the perfect choice!

For real – look at this photo Kelly shared on her Instagram!

Kelly Ripa has not confirmed the date of her Riverdale debut, but we can’t wait! The Riverdale parent flashback episode will air on The CW on November 7th! Hit the comments and let us know what you think about this casting news!
