‘Legends of Tomorrow’ recap: 4×02 “Witch Hunt”

Legends of Tomorrow recap: Season 4, Episode 2, “Witch Hunt” Aired October 29, 2018.

Legends, let’s face it, this show has found its niche. The writers have accepted the absurdity of this show and ran with it. You know what? It totally works. This show is smart, inclusive, and hilarious. Each week we as viewers know we will have a good time!

Nate Heywood

The CW

The first two episodes of this season seem to heavily focus on Nate Heywood. This leads me to believe one of two things:

  1. The writers want to fully flesh out Nate’s character, because they feel like they haven’t done it yet.
  2. This is Nate’s final season on the Legends’ team.

Although I don’t want this to be true, it does seem to be going in the direction of number two. Either way Nate’s story arc is quite enjoyable. This week he and his Dad attempt to get to know each other. At the same time, he and Ava form a friendship.

Ava Sharpe

Ava is working late at the Time Bureau. She has a budget meeting in the morning. She comes across a pants less Nate. Why is Nate without pants? He has been crashing at the Bureau since his fallout with his Dad.

He offers his help with the budget and she says fine, as long as he puts on pants. Thus, begins a friendship we didn’t know we needed on our screens. Seriously, I just want to hug them both!

  • Nate and Ava head to the meeting.
  • Nate finds out the person they are pitching to is his Dad.
  • He chickens out and says Gary needs to take his place.
  • It does not go well.

In the end, Nate confronts his Dad. He gets the budget approved and Ava hires him. That’s right, we get more Ava and Nate friendship!

Zari Tomaz

Tumblr

Why is it every time an episode is centered around Zari the feels come pouring out? Tala Ashe is just that good. This week was no exception. Our lovely Zari hits home once again. This week the Legends travel to Salem.

The townspeople are trying to burn a witch. Of course the woman isn’t a witch, but she is a Mother. The daughter recruits the help of a Fairy Godmother to exact revenge on the townspeople. That’s right, I said Fairy Godmother!

Only this woman is a parasite. She does make some hilarious references to past fairy tales.

“I mean who asks for glass slippers? They are hell on your feet!”

Zari associates the event with the prejudice she faced in her time. This of course warms Sara’s heart. She helps Zari save the woman.

John Constantine

Den of Geek

Against his gut, John moves in with the Legends. He is hiding from whoever is after him. The only problem is, he doesn’t tell the Legends. Preoccupied with his thoughts, John and the Fairy Godmother face off.

He loses. When the Legends finally catch her, he offers her a deal. He won’t send her back to hell, if she joins forces with him.

“I’d rather face hell than what is to come for you.”

Ominous words. What is coming for John? Only time will tell. One thing’s for sure, we are in for a wild ride this season!

My love of all things supernatural came from my first time watching ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ and has expanded into a wide range of shows. I love all things ‘Arrow’, ‘The Flash’, ‘Legends of Tomorrow', 'Supergirl', and ‘Legacies', to name a few. Traveling, cons, and beaches are three of my favorite things!
