Superstore episode Season 4, Episode 4, “Costume Competition,” Aired October 25, 2018
It’s Superstore Halloween time again and the gang is getting into the spirit! They all dress up and prove that this show has some of the best Halloween episodes ever! The costume competition gets super serious when the prize is announced and it just gets more and more hilarious from there.

These are the 4 funniest moments from Superstore 4×04!
#1 The Haunted Cart Caddy. The cart caddy that helps employees bring long lines of carts into the building isn’t a new thing, but the key fob that Dina busts out is. A few of the employees have a blast playing with it, but they all fail to tell Glenn that when you hold the fob, the cart caddy will follow you. The entire episode has Glenn running in fear from the seemingly haunted cart caddy that follows him everywhere (including home)! Poor Glenn. It was by far the funniest Glenn story-line of the series!

#2 Garrett’s Song Insanity. You know when you go to a store during a holiday and they are playing holiday music? You aren’t really there long enough to hear the whole playlist – but the employees are! After Jonah points out the frequency of an lame Halloween song, Garrett is consumed by his annoyance of it. He plans to put sweaters over the speakers, but the best part of it all was when he called corporate to complain and the hold music was the song that he was calling to complain about. Song 1, Garrett 0.

#3 Amy and Mateo’s mission. The costume competition has high stakes this year with the winner nabbing a paid day off! Amy needs the day because her feet are super swollen and she needs the rest, and Mateo is just Mateo. Instead of winning the costume competition the old fashioned way, these two go around pushing people to get offended by other people’s costumes to get rid of the competition. They (of course) do it in the most obnoxious way possible because this ultra competitive duo never disappoints.

#4 The Costume Competition gets WOKE. Instead of taking off (and keeping off) the potentially offensive and/or culturally insensitive costumes, the team pushes forward with the contest. To balance out the possible negative parts of their costumes, they each give thoughtful truths about the culture behind their costumes as a way to show that they are not mocking a culture, simply honoring it. The always go from one extreme to another, but the sentiment behind their costume culture speeches felt very sincere. Only in Cloud 9.

This winner is: AMY – but only because her boo, (the eye-roll inducing and overly clever, Gerry Mander – aka Jonah) cheated for her. It was pretty cute that he meddled for his lady love to win. Love them so much. #JonahAndAmy4Eva
