‘A Discovery of Witches’ at SDCC: Teresa Palmer talks Diana Bishop

A Discovery of Witches star Teresa Palmer and executive produce Lachlan MacKinnon sat down for roundtable interviews following the series’ panel in Ballroom 20, and it was epic to say the least. The conversation centered around Teresa’s overwhelming enthusiasm to play such an iconic female character in the world of science-fi/supernatural, so magically created by author and historian Deborah Harkness.

Teresa shares how she was drawn to Diana’s strength, vulnerability, and overwhelming bravery. The star also dives into how the character is relatable to the story’s female audience, and how ironically, even as a witch, Diana showed her how important it was to remain human, trust yourself unwaveringly, and that going outside your comfort zone can actually be a good thing.
