I have been trying to get excited for a show now that Once Upon a Time has closed its book, but nothing really appealed to me. Until Manifest dopped their first trailer. Immediately, I was intrigued by the concept. Also, the fact that Josh Dallas is one of the stars of the show helped too. So here’s why we’ve added the show to our watch list this fall!
(Oh hey, check out the trailer while you’re here if you haven’t seen it.)
Two words: Josh Dallas
Josh Dallas has hung up his sword for a new role. That’s right; Dallas will be gracing our TV screens again, but this time, he’s not playing the classic Prince Charming. He plays Ben who has just realized, upon getting off his flight, that five years have gone by. Talk about the biggest shock of your life. I’m excited to see him back in a drama role because he really shined in OUAT in his dramatic role as David Nolan. I’m sure his role in this show will be just as lovable as David was. I mean, how can it not be? Dallas has an amazing range as an actor, so I’m sure he’ll shine in this role. I guess we’ll have to wait and see!
Five years have just gone by? Just like that, but how!? MAGIC?
There’s something about the storyline that really resonated with me. It’s not like other shows that are currently on the air, and that’s such an exciting aspect. We live in a pop culture world where superheroes dominate the screen. So it’ll be nice to see a show revolved around normal people (that we know of). However, that doesn’t mean these characters won’t be heroes because we all know heroes don’t just wear capes. I think NBC’s tagline says it best while describing the show: “an emotionally rich, unexpected journey into a world grounded in hope, heart and destiny.” Now doesn’t that just sound like a nice change in pace on TV? Also, we can’t dismiss the word “hope” for all you Oncers out there looking for a new show to watch. Look no further!
It looks angsty as hecccckkk
I think this headline says it all. I will admit, I live for angst on TV shows. It just makes things more exciting, and you really never know what to expect when there’s a handful of angst thrown at you. As I haven’t seen the show yet (I hope to catch the screening at SDCC next week!), I just know that this five-year jump will cause some drama between our main characters. I am SO here for it.
We will definitely be tuning in this fall! Will you be watching the series premiere? Sign off below of why you’re pumped to watch it!
