‘Shadowhunters’ Season 3 Episode 7 “Salt in the Wound” airs May 1st 2018
This episode starts off with quite the cold open. Clace fans you may want to go ahead and prepare yourselves because the beginning is definitely not going to be easy for you to watch. I think it’s safe to say that Jace is just not himself.
Despite his good intentions, Magnus feels responsible for what’s happening to him. Although he was only trying to help who he thought was a fellow warlock, handing over that potion gave Lilith the last piece that she needed in order to have Jace completely under her control. Because of this, Magnus will stop at nothing to make things right.
While a lot of the focus is on trying to free Jace from Lilith, Maia’s story is also at the center. If you didn’t like Maia before (which is impossible) there’s a series of flashbacks that will make your heart burst with both love and sympathy for her. This episode explains what exactly happened between Maia and Kyle and exemplifies a new level of emotional depth for both characters.
- There’s an Alec/Clary moment that completely melted my heart.
- Anytime Simon and Luke team-up the episode automatically gets 1000x better.
- You’ll be very worried for Clary. Very.
Episode Rating: 8.5/10
