‘Supergirl’ recap: 3×15 “In Search of Lost Time”

Supergirl recap: Season 3, Episode 15, “In Search of Lost Time” Aired April 23, 2018.

Superfans, tonight was the night the team came to a head. Every issue we as the audience had this season is addressed via the characters. I for one, couldn’t be happier about it! This episode was all about what’s on the characters’ minds. I would like to re-title this episode, “The Boiling Point!”

Lena and Sam

I have said it once and I will say it again. Thank goodness Lena is on this show. The Super Friends are busy working out their issues and Lena is over here getting sh** done!

Lena figures out Sam is Reign after running various tests on her. She has the horrendous task of telling this truth to Sam. Does Sam believe her? What do you think? She lashes out at Lena and says a few hurtful words.

“I should have known as a Luthor, you only see a super villain.”

Dang, Sam, that is cold. We will forgive her because she is going through something, but poor Lena! Luthor realizes she is going to have to give Sam proof!

M’yrnn and J’onn J’onzz

The main character in this episode was quite surprising, M’yrnn J’onzz! We discover that M’yrnn had dementia last time. He’s been using these mind exercises to control his thoughts. They refocus his mind.

Unbeknownst to him, his mind waves are affecting others and chaos ensues.

  • Psychic beings begin to freak out.
  • People start to blurt out all their negative thoughts.
  • Supergirl‘s repressed emotions come out.

This is what I like to call the, “Hallelujah” moment for fans!

Kara and Mon-El

Kara and Mon-El are training, as two exes do. M’yrnn’s psychic wave goes through the room. Kara is effected. Since Mon-El is wearing his Legionaire ring, he is not. Supergirl decides it is a good time to hammer out her issues with him. It’s about time, girl!

  1. She yells at him about how he got super drunk the first time they got in a fight.
  2. All the times he didn’t listen to her and tried to help her, when she was perfectly capable.
  3. Leaving her.
  4. Saying he is over her, but keeps bringing up their past.

Basically she punches him in the stomach and yells at him. It is quite therapeutic.

The Boiling Point

Mid way through the episode the characters hit their boiling point. Lena determines she must make Sam infuriated to see the truth. She does. Sam reigns out.

Cut to- sad Sam, when she sees the video recording. She makes Lena promise to keep Ruby hidden from her until she is cured. Once again hinting at the fact that she might not end up with her daughter in the end.

Mon-El and Kara finally clear the air once and for all. Mon-El admits he wasn’t the greatest boyfriend. Thank you. Sorry. Moving on.

M’yrnn realizes the damage he has done. He and J’onn cry it out. Mr. Manhunter lets his Son cuff him. This scene is incredibly sad and incredibly heart wrenching. Get your tissues together.

What did you think of tonight’s episode? Did you get all the feels? Are you relieved it is all out in the open? Let me know what you think!

I am an actor and a writer. I spend my free time reading, writing, watching television, and hanging out with friends. My love of all things supernatural came from my first time watching ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ and has expanded into a wide range of shows. I love all things ‘Arrow’, ‘The Flash’, ‘Legends of Tomorrow', 'Supergirl', and ‘Legacies', to name a few. Traveling, cons, and beaches are three of my favorite things!
