Agents of SHIELD 5×17 recap, Season 5, Episode 17, “The Honeymoon,” Aired April 13, 2018

That was INTENSE! It’s episodes like this that make me thankful for commercial breaks so we can have a minute to relax. This episode kicked everything into overdrive and the stakes have never been higher. Let’s take a look at the 13 best moments from Agents of SHIELD 5×17!

13 Best Moments of “The Honeymoon”

#1 The Invincible Three. It’s a trio we never really thought about, but Yo-Yo, Fitz and Simmons make an incredible (and hilarious) team!

#2 RUBY. This girl is fierce AF. Yes, she is hunting Coulson and yes, we should hate her guts – but she is so fun to watch. Can we keep her? Can she be redeemed some way? Please?

#3 Ruby vs. Quake. Welcome to the prize fight, ya’ll! Ruby’s obsession with Daisy has been well documented, and now we finally get to see her meet her idol. But as Ruby says, she doesn’t want to be her, she wants to beat her. It’s a super cool fight sequence and it’s great to see Daisy flexing her Quake muscles again.

#4 DEKE! Even though Daisy ordered him to stay with Coulson, Deke hung back to “help” Daisy. She didn’t need it (obvi) and Deke got shot as General Hale opened fire. Don’t worry, Simmons will save him – oh, that’s right, she’s gone! Uh,oh.

#5 Mack wearing a hair net. We get that this hair net fits in with the surgical thing, but that’s just funny. The dude has more hair on his face than his head!

“And that’s me. I love you. I thought that would shut you up.” – May

#6 May gets lovey. May angrily told Coulson she loves him and we are as shocked as Coulson. We aren’t shocked that she loves him, (because we all know these two are end game), but we are shocked that she actually said it out loud.

#7 Ruby and Strucker team up. So much evil in one pairing. Ruby is totally playing Strucker, but it doesn’t seem like he knows or cares. He may have her back, but she definitely won’t have his when things get sticky.

#8 Fitzsimmons new rule. They have a rule that they will never leave each other’s side anymore. I think I can speak for the entire Fitzsimmons fandom when I scream – FINALLY!

#9 Ruby’s ways. Holy wow. Ruby using her mother’s love for her as a means to escape was beyond chilling. And Dove Cameron’s acting in that scene was absolutely phenomenal. From crying to crazed in a blink. AMAZING!

#10 Yo-Yo for the save. The mechanical Russian was no match for the bad-assery of Yo-Yo. She managed to kick his ass and take out the Mech soldiers he was controlling. Get it, girl.

(ABC/Mitch Haaseth)

#11 Drugged up Deke. He is such a goofball normally, but drugged up Deke is the best thing ever. We also got confirmation that he has the hots for Daisy, not that we really needed it.

“Should I shave my head?” – Drugged up Deke

#12 Time change? Fitzsimmons managed to escape the evil robots during a slow motion showdown, but the good times don’t last. Yo-Yo told them about what her older self said about letting Coulson die and Ruby and her evil boy toy are going to force them to fix the machine. This all just furthers Fitz’s theory that time can’t be changed.

“We don’t have a choice, never did.” – Fitz

#13 Hydra! Oh, no! After Daisy manages to arrange a phone call for Talbot, we see that Hydra is one step ahead. It seems that Talbot’s Hydra brainwashing has been triggered and we are devastated!
