Anime Cosplay: Follow these cosplayers

Cosplay in the anime fandom is a unique form that I enjoy. During my time at conventions, I take special note of anime cosplay. You might not know this but my convention adventures started off as a cosplay handler. I think that with this experience as my background, I’m always taking a close look at the kinds of *magic* that cosplayers conjure up. Whether it is a distinctive character, an awesomely amazing weapon, armor materialized from foam & worbla, or a makeup transformation, anime cosplay pops out with electricity. Even on a convention floor filled with distractions, you can pick these fantastic cosplayers out in an instant.

This article will be a little different from the others I’ve offered here on Pure Fandom. As far as I can tell, this is the first one posted with galleries embedded within. I want to share a few of my favorite anime cosplayers. The best way I know how to do that is share photos, social media links, and photographer credits. The anime universe is just so massive that one example will never be enough. I hope that you’ll take the time to go follow these imaginative creators! And maybe their achievements will inspire you to check out the related anime as well.

Well, like I opened with, this is just a small sampling of the *magic* that cosplayers bring to life from the world of anime. You should take the time to flip through all of these amazing cosplayers social media. Many of them do a great job posting work in progress photos and answering fan questions. So if you are even a little interested in trying some anime cosplay yourself, you can get wonderful advice and how tos!

It wasn’t my intention to have 100% female representation in this article. It makes me think that I’ll have to revisit this topic later in the year and provide a few male anime cosplay shout outs. Please reach out to me on my social media (TwitterInstagram) and give me some suggestions!

The Otaku Antics

Hello there – I’m Steven. I’m some combination of otaku, hikikomori, nerd, weeb, dork, and geek. Within this passion comes a fact that I cannot ignore: I love sharing the things that I obsess over. That’s what I want to write about in these articles. There’s nothing more exciting than getting someone interested in the things I hold dear. I also love dogs and occasionally moonlight as a cosplay handler for some of the most creatively geeky people. I get caught in binge-spirals watching all kinds of wonderful things. But here in this space I want to share a bit of my mania for all things anime, manga, and light novels with you!
