The Crossing, Ep 1×01, “Pilot” aired on April 2, 2018
We have been anxiously awaiting this series since the pilot was officially picked up last year and tonight’s series premiere did not disappoint. Newly transplanted small-town Sheriff, Jude Ellis (Steve Zahn) moved to quiet Port Canaan where the only criminal element appeared to be a single armed robber. His deputy hadn’t even seen a dead body before. Then they arrived. Four hundred bodies wash ashore at one of the local beaches and among them, there are about 47 survivors. Crashed plane or wrecked ship? Nope, our survivors are refugees from that future to come that is rife with war and a dwindling human population. What’s the problem? Robots? Zombies? Nah. The series centers on refugees escaping a future where enhanced humans known as Apex (Alpha Predators) have pretty much taken over.
Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort break down their favorite moments from tonight’s series premiere and ruminate over possible theories about these refugees and the future they’ve escaped? Did you catch on to the fact that they were all named after Biblical figures? Well, except Reece (Natalie Martinez) and maybe others in the refugee grouping that we’ve yet to find out more about. What does that mean? Leah didn’t even know what the Bible was when Jude mentioned it. What about Lindauer? Whose side is he on? Is he Apex or human? Hit play and then drop us a comment below or send us an email at [email protected] to let us know if you have your own theory about the refugees? Lindauer infiltrated the government, but for what aim? Is he meant to stop Apex from ever happening or ensure that it does? Tonight was just the premiere, but it should be interesting to see where things go from here. The show seems to have a lot of potential. What do you think? Stop by our Facebook group to let us know.
