The Walking Dead recap, Season 8, Episode 11, “Dead or Alive or,” Aired March 11, 2018

The gang is all back together! After all this time and a whole lot of bad things along the way, (including some death and general destruction of all their homes), the various groups finally made their way to Hilltop. Here are the 3 best moments (and one I didn’t like) from the 11th episode of The Walking Dead Season 8.

3 Best Moments

#1 The Swamp. Okay, there have been a lot of terrifying moments in this show’s history and the survivors have done some crazy things, but walking through that swamp? They can’t even see where they are stepping and there could be walkers at any moment coming from under the water. And sure enough that is exactly what happened! There were water zombies coming out from all over the place. Going through that swamp would be a hard pass for me.

AMC

#2 Dwight comes through. Who doesn’t love a good redemption story? Dwight has been through a lot and this episode was no different. He took a bunch of shit from Tara, got shot at a few times, and even thrown into a few fights he wasn’t ready for. An how did he respond? By saving everyone from a group of Saviors that were about to discover the group hanging out in the swamp. Good job, buddy.

AMC

#3 A new way to kill. So Negan found himself a new way to kill. Looks like he is going to take Eugene’s advice and start practicing some chemical warfare. I think this is going to be very interesting moving forward, and I am excited to see where Negan takes it from here. Are they literally going to use a catapult? Man, I hope so.

The Worst Moment

I was not a big fan of how slow moving this episode was in the beginning. The first half of this episode just seemed to drag and a lot of that had to do with all the Gabriel and Doc woodland cabin fun. There was just way too much of them and the end result was a blind priest and a dead doctor. Maybe some of that time could be given to Negan? He needs to be more central in the second half of the season than he has been. Forget the side characters, let’s get some more of the boss man.

Mike Bonney Mike loves to geek out over Star Wars, superheroes, Doctor Who and The Walking Dead. He is 100% Slytherin, a Sith Supporter and thinks Negan is probably the hero of Walking Dead.
