Taken recap: Season 2, Episode 5, “Absalom”, aired March 2nd, 2018
So far, this season is blowing our minds! We can’t get over how much we love the team and everything that comes with them. We love seeing a different bad guy each week and we love seein our team kick some ass! But the backstory on Santana this week was pure magic! So let’s break it down!
Mess with the Zohan
This guy was supposed to be a diplomat? That sets a lovely precedent as the man was a fine specimen of scum. Bryan and the team finding the pervert dead after being tortured for a while was no skin off our backs. We certainly weren’t shedding any tears or feeling any sympathy. But we do understand that his death could cause some other issues. Major ones. We still think he got what he deserves, but we wouldn’t want to see any wars as a result. That, and his death did indirectly help the team discover the sex trafficking ring. All’s well that ends well? We’re certainly going to be counting this one as a win.
The Santana ballad
Santana has pretty much been a mystery since the moment she stepped on our screens. But we have been completely okay with it because she is such a bad ass! We love her and while we are extremely curious, we don’t care where she came from or how she got here. We are just glad she is! But it was nice to know anyway. Especially since it shows just how honorable she truly is. Trading weapons in order to free young girls? Yeah, we’re actually pretty pissed that Santana was given dishonorable discharge for this. Of course, we get why it was wrong and she shouldn’t have done it, but shouldn’t Santana at least have been given honorable discharge? We would certainly consider that honorable. But we know that’s not how it works.
Tough as ever
Christina has shown us time and time again why she was chosen to be the leader. This woman not only exudes power and intelligence when she walks into a room, but grace too. We absolutely love the fact that she can express a charming smile while spilling some serious truth tea with her words at the same time. Nothing ever seems to intimidate Christina and she has made it clear that she is willing to do whatever it takes. In any given situation. Now, that’s a woman we want standing in our corner. When she took on the embassy this week with her sass, we were all cheering for her. People may mess with Christina, but they will only ever do it once. Nothing is going to get in the way of her team and their mission. You go, Christina!
Gotta have that look
Kilroy is always surprising a laugh out of us. He truly doesn’t seem to care what anyone thinks and marches to the beat of his own drum. If we were to meet him on the street, there is no way we would ever assume he weas a genius hacker. But we would never guess he was law enforcement either. So we could completely understand why the team would want him to play the part of a man paying for sex. There was no way Bryan was going to get that prostitute to talk. We don’t care how endearing his eyes are. Or how soft his voice is. Anyway, we were all cringing when Kilroy brought his blacklight with him to the hotel room. We don’t even want to imagine. But luckily, regardless of what Kilroy may have seen, we didn’t have to observe any of it.
Open or closed book
Bryan kind of seemed a bit upset with Santana that she didn’t tell him everything about herself. But we found that a bit weird since we still don’t really know everything about any member of the team. There are still things we are sure we don’t know about Bryan. Kilroy’s entire past is still a complete mystery, and we’re sure Christina still has some secrets tucked away too. Why should Santana be any different? Is it because Bryan sees her as a tad volatile? If that’s the case, then someone get that man a mirror because he is the epitome of the word. Not that we love him any less for it, because we don’t. We’re just saying. Maybe Bryan is just upset because he found out that Santana’s real name is Teresa. Don’t even get us started on that one.
While the team has won this battle and put the detective away for life, it’s an ongoing war. Human trafficking has been around for decades, and it isn’t going away any time soon. We fully support Christina’s ambition and we are all about the team’s goal. We just know it’s a long battle ahead. But we are here and ready for it! Will we continue to get back stories on our team? When will Bryan reveal more about himself to the others? Is there going to be a big bad this season? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
