The Bachelor: Season 22, Episode 10, Aired March 05, 2018
The season finale of The Bachelor is finally here! Will it be Lauren or Becca that has captured Arie’s heart? Will there be a proposal? What is this huge dramatic event that is supposed to take place? Let’s find out!
Who will win over the parents?
Arie’s family flew to Peru just to meet the two ladies who have captured his heart. Lauren is up first. Arie is afraid she’ll be closed off with his parents but is surprised when she is outgoing and more herself. She lets his family in a little bit, which is just enough for them to love her. Arie’s mom is especially taken with Lauren and thinks she has to be the one. The rest of Arie’s family also seems to be smitten with Lauren and don’t know how Becca will ever measure up.
When Becca arrives, Arie’s family does welcome her with open arms. They still have Lauren on the brain and continually ask Becca about Lauren. You’d think she was her publicist and not another option for Arie. Becca handles it like a champ even though she says she wants to scream. By the end of Becca’s visit, Arie’s family is convinced that she is the one for him. They’re just as confused as he is!
Love is in the air!
Unfortunately, it must be in the water also because Arie is in love with everyone! He continues to reassure Lauren on their date. He’s totally in love with her, he says. It’s honestly hard to believe at this point since he’s saying the same things to Becca. Is it really possible to love two people at the same time? Arie seems to think it is.
Becca confesses to Arie that she has no doubts about them. She can see their life together. By the end of their date, Arie feels the same way. He feels something with Becca that he says he’s lacking in his relationship with Lauren. Arie isn’t sure if love is enough to get him and Lauren through. Becca was an instant connection. She had the first date, after all. Lauren has been slower to get to know but she has eventually let Arie in.
So who’s it going to be? The apple or the starfish?
In this scenario, Lauren is the apple. It’s time for Arie to pick his bride. If you’re a fan of The Bachelor you know that usually whoever is in the first limo is the big loser of the season. In this case, they followed suit. Lauren arrived in the first limo so there will be no apples for Arie today! After he lets Lauren pour her heart out to him, Arie tells her that she’s not the one. Lauren seems totally blindsided by this news. She finally thought she’d found the one and it was hard to hear that Arie didn’t feel the same.
The second limo arrives and it’s time to see if Arie will indeed propose. Becca and Arie both profess their love to each other. Arie tells Becca that he chooses her and will continue to choose her every day. Arie gets down on one knee and pops the question. Becca, of course, says yes. This is usually when the happy couple rides off into the sunset to live happily ever after but Arie seems to have his own rules. Not to mention, nothing in this series seems to have gone as planned.
Arie has to be joking, right?
Arie has decided he made a mistake. He now wants to break up with Becca and try again with Lauren. Okay, the heart wants what it wants we guess. Arie calls up ABC and lets them know his decision. It’s unclear who decided to film all of this but cameras are present when all of this goes down. Becca arrives in L.A. for what she thinks is a romantic getaway with her fiance. She’s in for one hell of a surprise.
Arie arrives and asks Becca if they can talk. He tells her that he can’t stop thinking about Lauren and he has to follow his heart. Becca has the appropriate response when she says “Are you f***ing kidding me? She honestly can’t believe Arie is doing this and neither can we. It’s understandable to not stay in a relationship if you’re not feeling it, but to film it? Incredibly tacky! It’s also pretty heartless. If Arie ever loved Becca why would he embarrass her on television?
