The Bachelor: Season 22, Episode 9, Aired Feb. 26, 2018
There are three ladies left on The Bachelor this week—Kendall, Lauren, and Becca—couldn’t be more different. The foursome heads to Peru for the potential overnight dates. Arie has planned three very different dates for three very different women. Let’s recap!
Dune buggy racing.
Arie takes Kendall for dune buggy racing in the sand. Since sending Tia home, Kendall is probably the next best choice for a girl who’s ready for anything. After the driving, the two try out sand boarding. Kendall acknowledges that she’s in her head throughout the day. She’s worried that she’s not going to get to where the other girls are. Kendall isn’t ready to get engaged, and she’s told Arie how she feels. Arie is ready for a wife and children, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out.
The two enjoy a Peruvian dish for dinner. Kendall still isn’t sure if she can spend the night with Arie. She feels like Arie is her best friend. Arie tells her that they have so much fun together, but it makes them not talk about the serious things. The two finally have a serious talk about their relationship. Kendall confesses that she’s falling in love with Arie and agrees to spend the night in the fantasy suite with him.
Lauren and Arie take a plane to check out the Nazca Lines. These are geoglyphs that have been etched into the desert sand. Lauren is pretty quiet on the plane. When is this woman not quiet? Arie feels like she’s in her head, but he tries to reassure her. Lauren finds it hard to deal with the other two women in Arie’s life. Girlfriend, you shouldn’t have gone on the show if you couldn’t deal with the competition.
We totally get that Arie feels strongly for Lauren. We do have to wonder if it’s a physical attraction. They both exchange “I love you’s,” but Arie keeps saying that he’s not sure if he knows the real Lauren. He’s constantly reassuring her about their relationship. All of this does not deter Lauren from accepting the invitation to spend the night in the fantasy suite. So, if you’re keeping count, that’s two women in two nights.
I’ll never let go, Arie!
It’s time for Becca and Arie’s date. He’s arranged for them to head out to sea. They reenact the scene from Titanic on the edge of the boat. We’re over here having déjà vu. Didn’t he already have this date with Chelsea in Florida? Becca doesn’t seem to mind. Arie thinks that his relationship with Becca is the safest out of all three that he’s in. Can you build a marriage on safe?
Becca gets the most romantic dinner out of everyone. They’re in the middle of the desert in a tent. Becca tells Arie that she loves him. Once again, Arie says it back. So he’s told two women he loves them and one that he’s falling for them. Oy, vey! There really isn’t any question that Becca is going to accept the invitation to the fantasy suite. She’s the one that is the surest about her relationship with Arie.
“I’m here to get my girl.”
To throw a wrench in the process, Becca’s ex-boyfriend Ross shows up. He’s decided that he can’t live without her and feels compelled to let her know. Dude flew all the way to Peru! When Ross knocks on Arie’s door, Arie thinks he’s hotel management. Ross tells him who he is and why he’s there. Arie is just a little bit pissed off. He can’t believe the guy had the balls to fly all the way to Peru.
Ross decides he’s going to go get Becca, despite Arie asking him to respect the relationship he has with her. Becca is less than thrilled to see him. They broke up a year ago. She’s not interested in anything he has to say. Ross finally gets the hint and decides to take his balls and go home. Becca apologizes to Arie. It’s not her fault the guy flew to Peru!
Arie picks his final two.
Again at this week’s rose ceremony, Arie decides to pull Kendall aside for a chat. Does this mean she’s going to stay and either Becca or Lauren will be going home? Not so fast! Arie tells Kendall that he has to follow his heart. The other two relationships are further along so he feels like he has to send her home. We predicted this happening last week. We had a feeling that Tia was sent home because it would be impossible for Arie to choose between her and the other two.
It is sad for Kendall, though. She was being careful with her heart. She was also very realistic about not being sure if two people could actually fall in love in seven weeks. While she felt like she was falling for Arie, she wasn’t in the same place as the other two women. Becca and Lauren are happy to see her go. They accept the roses, and the Final Two is set. It will be either Becca or Lauren standing at the end.
Arie’s final two contestants: Becca and Lauren
What did you think of this episode of The Bachelor? Chris Harrison is promising that there will be a dramatic twist that no one sees coming! We can’t wait until Arie takes the ladies home to meet his family and to see what this twist is. Crazy things have happened on this show. It’s hard to believe this will be more dramatic than what’s been done in the past. Tweet us your thoughts at @Pure_Fandom or @ndintelman34.
