Dynasty recap: Season 1, Episode 10, “A Well-Dressed Tarantula”, Aired January 17, 2018
Just when Cristal looks to be making progress toward fixing her marriage with Blake, another wrench gets thrown into the mix. Or just another person from Cristal’s past, anyway. It seems like all the people who know Cristal want to take Blake for everything he’s worth. We see the pattern, but Blake is taking a while to catch on. Meanwhile, things with Jeff are getting more complicated. Something we didn’t think was possible. Keep reading below for our break down!
Go big or go home
It’s Fallon’s birthday! But not just any birthday, her 25th. Which usually isn’t the biggest deal, but with the Carrington family, it means Fallon gets her full inheritance. That comes out to about 100 million dollars. So of course, the party was all gold all the time. But we were pleasantly surprised to see that things didn’t get as crazy as we expected them to. Could it really be possible that Fallon is finally growing up? Even a little? While that would be amazing, we hope she doesn’t mature too much. A devious Fallon is our favorite!
On the romantic side of things, Jeff has us on an emotional roller coaster right along with Fallon. The only difference is that we know we’re on it. Jeff says he wants to have a go at a real relationship. Which would be great for Fallon and exactly what we want to see, except for that whole part where Jeff is plotting with his father to take the Carringtons down. But he didn’t mean Fallon as well. Right? We’re going to keep our fingers crossed that his feelings for Fallon are real, and these two can really have something good.
Return of the dead
Alejandro is back, and we aren’t pleased. Not only is he just one more person from Cristal’s past out to get Blake’s money, but the guy is a real douche. When he told Sam he just wanted them to be a family again, we almost choked. Not in the sweet, sentimental kind of way either. As if that isn’t enough, it takes hardly any time for Alejandro to meet up with Cristal and attempt to blackmail her.
The guy goes so far to take a hostage to get what he wants. We don’t negotiate with assholes. That should really be the Carrington motto. Of course, if it was they really wouldn’t be able to negotiate with anyone. Ever. But the Carringtons are able to pull their heads out of their asses and work together long enough to pull one over on Alejandro. Not that it should have been that difficult. He clearly isn’t the brightest crayon in the box.
Not what it seems
Just when you thought there was a chance that Alejandro may actually get exactly what he wants, the family pulls a fast one. Or a surprisingly well thought out one, as the case may be. Blake and Cristal were pretty convincing with their whole act. Probably because in every little bit of acting, there was some truth. How many times can your wife lie to you before you begin to really feel some resentment? Add on top of that the fact that Blake has 99 problems and they are all because of Cristal.
With the help of Sam, the others are able to get their associate out of Alejandro’s hands. They were pretty proud of themselves for that, but it’s clear that Iris and Alejandro aren’t done. That’s made glaringly apparent when they appear in the back seat of Fallon’s car. That’s some really great family you have there, Cristal. There is some deep seated resentment from Iris that her sister got the good life and she didn’t. If Iris would sit down and talk about it, she may be surprised at how much she actually has in common with Fallon.
Real relationship
We don’t think it’s possible for Sam and Steven to get any cuter. While there was of course some deception in the beginning, things seem pretty solid for them now. Besides Steven’s whole substance abuse problem at the moment. But we have nothing but complete confidence that it’s a habit the Carrington will be able to quit. It seems like Sam may just be waiting for him when Steven does kick it. Sam is probably the most genuine person around at the moment, and definitely someone Steven can trust. We can’t wait to see more of them!
What is going to happen to Fallon now? Will Blake and Cristal be able to salvage their marriage? Does Jeff really have feelings for Fallon or is it all a ploy?
