‘Scandal’ 7×09: Promo breakdown and predictions for “Good People”

Scandal 7×09 “Good People” airs Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 9/8c on ABC.

What happened in that basement? Definitely not monopoly even though the game is a form of torture in itself. The big question for Thursday’s episode is if Quinn’s 100% dead or if Annalise Keating came in and hoodwinked us all.

Thanks to the promo clip, we can see Quinn’s kidnapping was not gentle. How rude. Pregnancy is basically having a big orange FRAGILE sign stamped on your entire person. Rowan should’ve at least given her a few extra pillows.  Luckily, Quinn’s a trooper and there’s no doubt that she did her best to survive. Side note: Did anyone else feel chills when they heard her sing “You Are My Sunshine?” Quinn brokenly singing to calm her baby who no doubt feels her fright is heartbreaking.

The only thing we know for sure is that Quinn gave birth. Now, we just have to figure out if Rowan killed Quinn and kept Baby Robin. I’m not giving up hope yet on Quinn.

In the promo video, Rowan looked very distraught and tortured. He feels backed into a corner and is pulling at straws to get his daughter back. He’s killed before, but Quinn is different. She’s carrying Olivia’s goddaughter, a baby that may one day be Olivia’s saving grace.

I do have one theory that’s a little bananas. Babies can be a sort of fresh start and Rowan desperately needs one. I wouldn’t put it past him to attempt to keep Baby Robin to raise her as his own. Sorry, Rowan, ya done goofed and now your daughter is en route to becoming a monster.  There are no redos for parenting. Plus, if this is some sick “new year-new father” type of thing, kidnapping and murdering the child’s mother is 100% not the way to start a clean slate.

Now, the most probable theory is that Rowan kidnapped Quinn and she talked her way into surviving. She maybe even helped plan her fake death. At the end of the day, Quinn will negotiate for her baby’s life. Plus, it’s a 2-for-1 deal. If she and Baby Robin get to survive and Olivia gets her white hat back, everyone wins. Except for Charlie. He got the short end of the stick regardless of the outcome. Let’s just hope Annalise didn’t come in to help with Rashad’s death because I’m putting my whole heart in her hands. Quinn can’t be dead, you guys.

The last episode ended with Charlie giving Rowan some much needed ass whooping. I hope we start there and then move to the flashbacks of the creepy basement prison. Charlie needs to beat someone up. He either lost his little family or his fiancée lied to him about dying and having the baby. If it’s the latter, that’s gotta breed some major trust issues. On another note, can you guys imagine QPA raising a baby? $5 says they dress Baby Robin as a gladiator for her first Halloween.
