‘The Shannara Chronicles’ recap: 2×04 “Dweller”

The Shannara Chronicles recap: Season 2, Episode 4, “Dweller” aired Nov. 1st, 2017

The Gist

At the start of the episode, Allanon tells Eretria to go back to the palace and warn King Ander that Queen Tamlin may not have everyone’s best interest at heart. Eretria argues that she wants to stay and protect Wil, but Wil tells her that where they’re going is too dangerous and he can’t lose her again. Eretria agrees to take Garet and go but they promise to make it back to each other after.

Back at the palace, Lyria tells King Ander that she can’t marry him to form the alliance because she’s in love with Eretria. Eretria comes in just in time to overhear, and she and Garet warn them that there are people inside of the castle who are secretly aligned with the Crimson. King Ander realizes that his best friend has been part of the Crimson the entire time and it is he who is responsible for the death of Catania. Both King Ander and Queen Tamlin kill their traitors in a very public showing and decide to band together for the greater good.

Meanwhile, Wil, Allanon, and Mareth run into some trouble. A giant, disgusting, (creepy) spider-looking thing attacks Wil and makes him relive some of his worst memories. We see a flashback of young Wil in the barn with his dad, and we watch as his father hits him repeatedly for playing with a sword. After Allanon and Mareth help him break free, Wil finds his father’s body along with the same sword that he found in the barn all those years ago. Turns out that it’s actually the sword of Shannara which is the most powerful weapon ever forged.

  1. Eretria called Lyria princess right after they kissed and I didn’t know if I was crying of joy or crying of sadness because WOW I miss Princess Rover and we could of had it all.
  2. Bandon’s gone pretty crazy at this point and honestly I’m not sure if Uncle Flick is going to make it at the rate things are going.
  3. It seems like Lyria’s finally realized just how much power she has over her mother and I am HERE for it.

Our rating: 8/10
