‘The Shannara Chronicles’ recap: 2×03 “Graymark”

The Shannara Chronicles recap: Season 2, Episode 3, “Graymark” aired Oct. 25th, 2017

Tonight’s Shannara was probably one of my favorite episodes so far. Seeing Wil and Eretria together again brought up all sorts of old feelings and really brought me back to the Season 1 days. This episode was packed with action and a lot went down.

Let’s recap!

The Gist

Eretria uses the bag of diamonds that Queen Tamlin gave her to hire Garet Jackson and track down Wil. Wil and Eretria unite and Eretria reveals that Amberle sent her to find him. Wil, Eretria, Mareth, and Garet form a rescue party to break Allanon out of the castle. Mareth wants to find Allanon so he can show her how to use her magic, Wil needs Allanon to save his uncle, and Eretria just wants to protect Wil. Garet is roped into helping, and Wil gets himself arrested in order to make it to the dungeons.

Unfortunately, General Riga runs right into Wil and Allanon in the middle of their escape and captures them both. Riga needs the blood of the Shannara, so he begins to drain Wil and threatens to kill him if Allanon doesn’t reveal the location of the skull. Mareth comes in with Alanon’s staff to save the day and takes out Riga and his guards.

Although it proves difficult, with a little help from Mareth’s magical illusions the group manages to make it out of the castle just in the nick of time.

  1. I don’t know about you guys, but it seemed to me like there was a lot of longing looks from Wil to Eretria. With Lyria in the picture, does this mean there’s going to be a new love triangle in Season 2?
  2. Allanon may be out of the castle, but is he actually going to agree to help save Wil’s uncle? Judging from what we saw this episode, my money is on no.
  3. Are we ever going to see Amberle again? This is two episodes without an appearance. My Princess Rover heart can only take so much separation.

Our rating: 9/10
