‘Lore’: 3 reasons to watch this creepy new anthology

0

There is a chill in the air, everything is pumpkin flavored, and we find ourselves on the hunt for a new scary movie or show to watch this Halloween season! Lucky for us, Lore is exactly what we need to get into the spooky spirit this October!

Amazon Prime’s new anthology show, Lore, is based on the hit podcast of the same name, and it’s a must watch! Each episode starts with the podcast creator, Aaron Mahnke narrating the twisted tale. He unpacks the details of the episode’s folklore, and it switches from him speaking to the actors playing out the story. It’s like those cheesy ghost show reenactments, but with top shelf actors. It’s creepy, interesting and gives you extra shivers when you remember that it’s all based on real people and events.

Here are 3 reasons to watch Lore on Amazon Prime when it launches on Friday, October 13th! (Spooky!)

#1 The history is super interesting!

If you love watching ghost shows and haunted house tales simply to hear them explain the history of the legend or the home, then you will love this! Mahnke starts each episode with an intriguing bit of lore or antidote that leads into a bigger story. It will grab your attention early and keep you at the edge of your seat until the very end.

#2 The acting.

The actors who bring Mahnke’s stories to life are amazing! Every single one is great, but we have to give a shout out to our girl Holland Roden for her portrayal of Bridget in episode 3. It’s a gripping, disturbing story that will stay with you long after the episode is over.

#3 It’s f*cking creepy.

This isn’t a “jump out and scare you” type of scary. This is more of an eerie, creepy, “can’t stop thinking about it” kind of scary. It’s the perfect show to watch with someone who doesn’t love scary movies, but can handle some goosebumps. It will give you all the creeps you need to get in the mood for Halloween, that’s for sure!
