The Shannara Chronicles: Season 2, Episode 1 is set to premiere October 11th at 10/9c on Spike.
It’s finally happening! After a year since the debut of Season 1, The Shannara Chronicles is finally returning for it’s second season. However, don’t expect to tune in to MTV (it’s usual network) for the Season 2 premiere. It appears as though MTV has decided to once again start airing more reality TV and music based content, and it’s most likely that The Shannara Chronicles just didn’t fit this new vision for the network.
Despite no longer be hosted on it’s original channel, the show will continue on Spike (thankfully) and an official promo has finally been released giving us a taste of what’s to come in Season 2.
Although the trailer was packed full of awesome moments, we decided to narrow it down and pick just 5 things that we can’t wait to see when Shannara finally returns this fall!
1. Eretria being a badass
It’s no secret that Eretria is one of the most badass girls on the planet. But look…I haven’t seen my girl for over a year and I got chills just watching new footage of her my screen. Eretria is back in action and just like usual, it looks like she’s not gonna be taking shit from anyone.
2. Wil saving the world (again)
I thought it was pretty ironic that Wil’s first words in the trailer were “I’m not interested in saving the world anymore.” No matter how much he tries to fight it, Wil Ohmsford will run straight into the line of fire if it means keeping people safe. Wil, saying that we missed you is an understatement.
3. The new characters
From the looks of the trailer, it seems like we’re going to have a bunch of new (and returning) cast mates for the season. While I’m usually pretty set in my ways and eager to see the original characters, I have to say that I’m extremely excited to see these new additions to the show. I’m hoping they’re going to add on to the story and bring something fresh and new.
4. Amberle’s return
I screamed. I’m not kidding I spent at least 30 seconds screaming before I had to calm down and make sure my eyes weren’t playing tricks on me. Amberle is back, I repeat Amberle Elessedil is back! I’m not sure in what capacity and honestly at this point I’m too excited to care. All I know is that she’s not gone for good like we thought and I need a Princess Rover reunion sometime in my future.
5. Eretria and her new girlfriend
If you’ve been following The Shannara Chronicles over the hiatus Eretria and her girlfriend shouldn’t come as a surprise. But WOW I still can’t believe this is actually happening??? From the very start of the show I have been waving my Princess Rover flag, but I am definitely on board with this. To be completely honest, Eretria and her new relationship is probably the thing I’m looking forward to most this season. October just can’t come quick enough!
