‘Wayward Sisters’: Cast news and characters we want to see
Rev up that Impala, Supernatural fans. The show’s spinoff Wayward Sisters just announced its official cast, and there’s a lot to be happy about. Let’s go ahead and get straight into the big news: the Wayward Sisters cast.
The official cast
So, we already knew that Kim Rhodes’s Jody Mills was spearheading the new spinoff. What we didn’t know is if Donna Hascum (Briana Buckmaster) would be joining her. Good news—she is! And she’s not the only one. Both of Jody’s adopted daughters, Claire (Kathryn Newton) and Alex (Katherine Ramdeen) will appear. But that’s not all: a new character named Patience Turner (Clark Backo) is joining the ragtag group of protagonists. Her world begins to change when she finds out that she’s a powerful psychic. Oh, and she’s the granddaughter of Missouri Moseley (Lorette Devine)—yes, the Missouri from season 1 of Supernatural. We’re stoked to see her in action.

Who’s in the cast and why?
Wayward Sisters will focus on the characters mentioned above. The plot revolves around the women as they navigate the supernatural world around them. Whether this makes them full-blown hunters is yet to be seen. What we do know is that we’ll get a more fleshed-out look at how the characters interact with each other and their circumstances. After all, they go through their own trials when the Winchester brothers aren’t around. And we’ll get to see that when Wayward Sisters premieres.

Who might be coming back?
Because Patience’s grandmother is Missouri, there’s a very good chance that we’ll see her again. (And honestly, we’re pretty excited.)

Other than Missouri and the characters already announced, the Wayward Sisters cast seems pretty set. But that doesn’t mean that characters from Supernatural won’t pop in for an episode or two. We’re fully expecting to see appearances from Sam, Dean and Castiel at some point.
What’s really interesting to think about is the other characters that might come back.
There are a lot that come to mind (this is Supernatural we’re talking about, after all), but the top picks would have to be Charlie Bradbury and Eileen Leahy. However, we might be getting alternate versions of those characters in Supernatural thanks to an alternate world the show introduced in the season 12 finale.
Heck, even Lisa Braeden or Linda Tran would be welcome in the Wayward Sisters cast. They’re both still alive in the Supernatural canon and would add some nostalgic and interesting points of view to the spinoff. (Plus, they’re both badasses in their own ways.)

What impact does this casting news have?
Thanks to the official casting news, fans will have a good idea what the tone of the new series is like and how the characters will relate to each other. We’ve seen Jody’s little family recently, and it’ll be interesting to see how Donna and Patience affect the mix. One thing’s certain: it’ll definitely be a different show than Supernatural. And we can’t wait.
