The Teen Wolf panel at SDCC 2017 was highly anticipated and for good reason! Not only did we get two of our favorite Beacon Hills parents as moderators (Melissa Ponzio and Linden Ashby) but we were treated with not one but two additional cast members! Charlie Carver was there and the biggest secret of the day, Dylan O’Brien!!!!
To the delight of ALL, Dylan surprised everyone by attending the final SDCC Teen Wolf panel ever. It was such a nostalgic and emotional panel with many of the audience questions being about what they will miss most about the show. Everyone’s answer was equally adorable and had one thing in common. Family. They all agreed that they would miss each other and that working on the show was truly life changing.
Jeff Davis, the series creator was on the panel and treated everyone with a video of various cast member’s auditions. The audition tapes were cut with the scenes from the actual episode and it was so special to witness.
Emotions were high but so was the action! During the panel, the audience got to see an extended trailer (check that out HERE) and the return of Derek Hale (with an intro video by Tyler Hoechlin and Ian Bohen)! Derek’s return felt more like the trailer to an intense (and sexy) action movie! Derek’s 6b story is related to some murders and men that are hunting him. He also learns in the clip that the men are linked to Gerard somehow (ugh, MOUNTAIN ASH!)
Colton Haynes wasn’t there in person, but he did give us a sneak peek of his return as well. We saw the sliver of Jackson and Ethan walking back into Beacon Hills High in the trailer. This clip expanded on that and hinted at Jackson’s interest in men, as well as woman. When Jackson checks out a girl and then a guy in the hallway, he is nudged by Ethan. Could this mean that the two are an item? We hope so! But there’s no time to wonder because they immediately run into the new counselor who ties them up and electrocutes them. Not a warm welcome home but that’s to be expected in Beacon Hills.
Holland also taped a video to say hi to everyone and say that she wishes she could be there. She is off filming on another project.
After the panel, Tyler Posey collected all of the name cards from the table. We hope that he is off scrap-booking them into a giant Teen Wolf memory book right now!
The biggest takeaway from the panel was that this cast loves one another so, so much and they love Teen Wolf as much as we do. We are so happy that we were able to see their big send off and we can’t wait for Season 6B!
