8 Shows to watch now that ‘The Vampire Diaries’ is over

The Vampire Diaries fans, listen up! I know the show has been over for a while now and it sucks seriously bad. However, to make up for our sad loss, how about binge-watching some TV shows that I have lined up for you? You should love these other supernatural drama TV shows if you loved TVD  — I promise!

Here are 8 shows to watch now that The Vampire Diaries is over:

#1 The Originals

A spin-off of The Vampire Diaries, The Originals focuses on a family of power-hungry, thousand year old vampires as they look to take back the city that they built and dominate all those who have done them wrong. You can catch episodes of The Originals on The CW or Netflix.

(FYI, if you haven’t watched The Originals yet and you are a TVD fan – I’m seriously judging you! #SorryNotSorry!)

#2 Shadowhunters

After her mother disappears, Clary must venture into the dark world of demon hunting, and embrace her new role among the Shadowhunters. The series is based on The Mortal Instruments books by Cassandra Clare. You can catch episodes of Shadowhunters on Freeform.

#3 Teen Wolf

A somewhat awkward teen is attacked by a werewolf and inherits the curse himself, as well as the enemies that come with it. The breakout series may be ending soon, but you can binge full episodes on MTV.com.

#4 The 100

The 100 is set 97 years after a nuclear war has destroyed civilization, when a spaceship housing humanity’s lone survivors sends 100 juvenile delinquents back to Earth in hopes of possibly re-populating the planet. Dive in and get addicted by watching on Netflix or The CW.

#5 American Gods

A recently released ex-convict named Shadow meets a mysterious man who calls himself “Wednesday” and who knows more than he first seems to about Shadow’s life and past. This one’s a little more adult and graphic than TVD, but it has all of the beautiful, sci-fi fantasy elements we love. Episodes only on Starz.

#6 Supernatural

The show centers around two brothers following in their father’s footsteps as “hunters” — fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth. 12 seasons strong, you’re at no shortage of episodes with this one. Watch full Supernatural episodes on The CW or Netflix.

#7 Bitten

When she left Stonehaven – ‘for good this time’ – Elena Michaels thought she had left the world of supernatural behind. Until the night she got a mysterious call from her pack leader asking her to come back. As if things were not bad enough, Elena also happens to be the only living female werewolf. Watch all three seasons of Bitten on Netflix or Syfy.

#8 True Blood

A must for vampire lovers. Telepathic waitress Sookie Stackhouse encounters a strange new supernatural world when she meets the mysterious Bill, a southern Louisiana gentleman and vampire. Based on the books by Charlene Harris, we suggest not watching this series with your mom. Find full True Blood episodes on HBO.
