‘Resident Evil: The Final Chapter’ Film Review

On January 25th, I was lucky enough to watch an advanced screening of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. (Thanks to Capcom and Gamestop, all rewards members got an exclusive sneak peek!)

How do I feel, about the final installment, of this kick-ass series?

“I would like to thank Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter for being perfect. I would also like to take a moment to thank Screen Gems for being on point! Finally, thank you to Paul W.S. Anderson for writing one doozy of a finale!”

The Final Chapter, was the perfect ending to 15 years worth of entertainment!

Throwback!

Resident Evil takes the audience back to its roots. I mean, way back…

The movie had the look and feel of the first film. It brought back the horror-factor, we all knew and loved. I mean, seriously, I jumped at least ten times!

The story was focused. Normally there are a decent amount of characters and we have to wade through the trenches until they all die, and we finally have just our core group left.

The Final Chapter cuts the audience a break and doesn’t make us wait that long. We get to the core group pretty fast.

I am saddened to say, though, that the majority of our characters do not make a reappearance like they did in Retribution. Oh, Jill Valentine, we miss you!

Anyways, let’s get down to the nitty gritty. Resident Evil has been known to have strong female characters, insane fight choreography, horror, iconic villains (the dogs), and a splash of well-timed humor.

The Checklist

Did it meet our franchise pre-existing requirements?

ABSOLUTELY!

The Question

What about the one question on everyone’s mind?

“Was the ending satisfying?”

At the end of the film, the audience stood up, clapped, and cheered! Does that answer your question?

So, when you are done reading this article, go online. Purchase your ticket. Go see it. If you have already seen it, go online, purchase your ticket, and watch it again!

I most certainly am!

I love all things ‘Arrow’, ‘The Flash’, ‘Legends of Tomorrow', 'Supergirl', and ‘Legacies', to name a few. Traveling, cons, and beaches are three of my favorite things!
