‘The Magicians’ recap: Brad and Cort Talk ep 2×01, “Knight of Crowns”

The Magicians recap: Season 2, Episode 1, “Knight of Crowns”, Aired Jan. 25, 2017

You know of Swayze? Of course, we know of THE Swayze. Do you have any idea how many times Cort has seen that movie and listened to the cassette tape on until the poor thing wore out. Yes, we have returned to Fillory everyone and what an epic trip it was. Our Brakebills favorites are delightfully fluent in all things 80s/90s. Eliot became quite swoonworthy…well more so than usual as he took a moment to stage one of the most romantic moments in 80s movies history.

Cort definitely rewound that scene (the movie and Eliot) a few times. Such a wonderful premiere, that managed to suck the audience right back into this world of magical badasses. Turns out we get an entire royal court. All hail, High Queen Margo. It wasn’t all sunshine and rainbow bridges, though. With everyone else traipsing all over Fillory, Julia continued her search for Renard the Fox. The Beast definitely isn’t the best traveling partner. Here’s hoping Kady makes an appearance sooner than later. We’ve seen Julia go dark and The Beast is an influence she definitely doesn’t need.
