Marvel movies timeline: Here’s the order to watch every Marvel film

With the slew of Marvel films coming out this year, fans are already planning their binge to brush up on all the history that’s been shown in the last decade of Marvel films. Whether you’ve seen them all before or not, it’s always a good idea to watch these films (over and over again!)

While the films may not be in chronological order, the following is the recommended order to watch the films based on where they fit in the timeline of the Marvel universe. Yes, it gets confusing, but we tested out the below order and it definitely gets our vote.

CNET released a nifty infographic for all of us fans, providing a timeline of each film and the order to watch to prep for the new movies being released. If you’re really wanting to dive into the entire universe, the graphic also shows the TV shows to watch chronologically as well (hey, if you have the time, why not?)

What’s next after Infinity War Part 1 and Theories for Infinity War Part 2

Note that CNET has left out the super-granular canon parts of The Marvel Cinematic Universe: “The Marvel Cinematic Universe … also sometimes includes connected properties such as comics or shorts. Here we’ve left out smaller properties and stuck to the big two: films on the left side, shows on the right.”

Additional note: CNET plans to update their graphic as film announcements for 2018 and beyond are available. You can look for updates to be made on the graphic in the original article.

You can listen to our Marvel Movies Podcast for theories on what’s next after the insane ending in Avengers: Infinity War, but fans don’t have to wait until the Part 2 to get more of their Marvel fix. Captain Marvel is hitting theaters on March 8, 2019.

Diehard Marvel fans are aware that Captain Marvel is one of the most powerful superheroes in the Marvel Universe. Oscar winner Brie Larson (who won best actress for 2015’s The Room) stars as the superhero.

There’s a fun twist to this film, though—it’s set in the past. Get ready for some ’90s nostalgia as the MCU dives into how Captain Marvel plays a huge role in the fight against Thanos.
