With Rogue One: A Star Wars Story approaching, the team at Pure Fandom is taking the week to celebrate all things Star Wars. Fueling our hopes of a lightsaber duel in Rogue One, (it’s not a Star Wars film without a lightsaber duel, for real), we are taking a look back at the best lightsaber duels of all-time across the film franchise.
Let’s break it down! (In no particular order)
1. Darth Maul vs Obi Wan Kenobi and Qui Gon Ginn, Episode I: The Phantom Menace
Let’s be real, this was the only good part about this film (aside of Qui-Gon’s death, #GoneTooSoon)
2. Kylo Ren/Ben Solo vs Rey, Episode VII: The Force Awakens
Rey’s ability to completely own Kylo further confirms our Chosen One theory.
3. Luke Skywalker vs Darth Vader, Episode V: Empire Strikes Back
What else can we say except that this is one of the most infamous movie scenes of all time. #LukeIAmYourFather
4. Luke Skywalker vs Darth Vader, Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
Luke and Vader, part deux!

5. Mace Windu vs Senator Palpatine/Darth Sidius, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
All we can say is, Mace Windu could totally survive that fall. Bring back Windu!
6. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker vs Count Dooku, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
For a prequel fight, this one wasn’t that bad.
7. Qui-Gon Jinn and Darth Maul, Episode I: The Phantom Menace
Maul is so boss, his hood doesn’t even fall down while he fights.
8. Anakin Skywalker vs Obi-Wan Kenobi, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
Aside of the terrible Padme/Anakin dialogue, this fight scene is pretty legit.
