Marvel movie roundup: Plans for 2017

We all know that Marvel started out as a comic book company, but 2017 sees the firm continue to branch out as a multimedia enterprise that aims to see its weird and wonderful superheroes in our multiplexes, on our TV screens, and even in our online games. The Marvel movie lineup for 2017 alone is enough to fill any comic-lover’s heart!

2016 was another blockbuster year for Marvel’s movies thanks to the likes of Doctor Strange and Captain America: Civil War. And next year will see the company delivering plenty of other blockbusters with releases like Thor: Ragnarok and Spider-Man: The Homecoming that aim to reacquaint us with these celebrated superheroes.

The Thor movie will be released towards the end of the year and will see Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston returning to their mythical roles, plus the addition of Jeff Goldblum will be expected to put in a great turn as the mystical gamer Grandmaster.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will hope to give the franchise a fresh new start upon its release in July as the reboot marks the point where fresh-faced newcomer Tom Holland gets to play the coveted role of Peter Parker.

But it’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 that is expected to break many box office records. The previous installment was the biggest superhero movie of 2014, and although there are reports that Groot might be different, it’s still expected to deliver another perfect blend of high-octane action and wonderfully timed comedy.

The gaming realm also enjoyed plenty of Marvel hits this year with Lego Marvel’s Avengers entertaining younger gamers, and regardless of whether you were low, mid or high roller, the Captain American slots game at the Coral online casino site showed the instant appeal of this comic book hero.

But next year sees the brand really taking modern gaming head on. This will see Marvel adding to their strong mobile gaming output with epic console releases like the upcoming Spider-Man game that will show how serious the company are about this booming entertainment industry.

And finally, Marvel won’t be slowing down in its bid to dominate our TV screens in 2017. Next year we will see the company premiering new superhero series like Marvel’s Iron Fist, and Defenders; plus, there could also be new seasons of acclaimed hits like Jessica Jones and Daredevil.

So whether you’re playing an online slots game or heading down to your cinema in 2017, there’s a good chance that there will be a Marvel option to give your entertainment a comic book twist!
